Are you someone who is organised and has planned everything. All paperwork, housework, packing up to date?
Or do you rush at the last minute?
I'm pretty last minute, although I do have a friend who takes her washing with her and has to do it when she's there.

Chaos. Utter chaos.
I always intend to be organised and getting everything packed nice and early but can never decide what to take, and end up with piles of clothes everywhere, lots of scrappy to do lists and a total mess of housework.
Usually the packing gets finished as I run out the door (and then run back in again because I've forgotten something). Oh god just thinking about getting ready to go on holiday makes me feel stressed!0 -

Usually very calm. I have lists for everything, things to pack (or already packed) and routes/travel plans rehearsed in head or with DH. So on the day everyone knows what to do and when.SPC 08 - #452 - £415

Fairly chilled - I go LARPing and as long as I have kit/weaps/armour I'm sorted.
For work trips, I figure if I forget anything I can buy it there and I VERY rarely take more than hand luggage

pretty organised usually, although there is only myself to pack for as I live alone. Whoever im going with sorts themselves out.
Insurance all previously sorted out, flights hotel bookings transfer documentation all printed out in work the week before and triple checked.
make a list of everything I intend to take - anything that I will not need prior to going gets put into the case and ticked off the list. Clothing gets set into piles, and anything that needs washed/ironed gets done in the few days before going. Any last minute bits of shopping for flip flops, toiletries gets done and put into the case.
then the night before - double check my list, put anything else in the case, leaving out only things I might need the next morning, like hair straighteners, make up etc. They get popped in the case just before leaving.
That usually leaves the night before quite free to tidy round the house, have a glass of wine and a relaxing evening.
It would be my idea of hell having to do it for anyone other than myself, or having kids running around in the middle of it.
At least I know that once it goes into the case, no one else can take it out because they needed it!Mortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190 -
My biggest stress is having the house tidy enough or the neighbour to check.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

When we go away its only me, him and two dogs. We only start packing the car the morning we go and we are generally on the road for about 10.
Hubby normally sorts the car out with emergency tools the night before. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
We got married on the Saturday and then went on holiday on the Monday. I stupidly went on strike the week of the wedding in preperation and ended up with clothes that I didn't really want to wear on holiday because I hadn't washed the ones I wanted haha. We forgot things also. When I came back I had double the washing to do..... won't be doing that again.
Normally I'm so organised but being pregnant getting married and going on holiday was just too much effort to get right hahaNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
We spend the week prior on a gradual packing. We always write a tick list and cross off each one as we pack, checking the oil, tyre pressure and water of the car. The last day is spent packing the stuff into the car, charging our phones\tablets and loading the route on the satnav.
On the day we vacate, we double check the list, which usually finishes off with turning off the heating, checking all doors and windows are locked and secured.
After all this, we generally find there is something we forgot to do or pack when we arrive at our holiday destination.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

It's like that for me because of the MIL! :rotfl: Stressing that it's clean and tidy enough and up to her Kim & Aggie standards!
Packing is usually started either the night before or a couple of days before. Packing is fairly straightforward as we know what we want to take, and besides my thinking is that as I'm not going to Outer Mongolia or the like, I can always buy stuff there if needs be. Having said that, I do still have a panic on the way to the airport that we've forgotten something that is absolutely essential!0
