One of the things people try to do to help pay off debts is picking up money off the ground. I've been trying this technique too for a couple of weeks (though not strictly so far) and haven't found any. It's odd as I'm quite observant so wouldn't miss any if it was there. Maybe the area I look in (Central London) is the wrong place? Maybe it's due to tougher times that it goes more quickly than normal.
What's the typical roadkill earnings in a week, and what's the most you have ever found in a week?

Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I thoguht you were talking about picking up dead rabbits and the like. No reason why not I suppose. I recall at one stage when I was pretty broke passing a dead lamb and wondering if anyone would notice if I stopped and put it in the back of my car for cat food. Couldn't quite pluck up the courage to do it, though.0

Worried, I quite often pick up fresh killed rabbits for my cats. Mind you I live in the country so its quite easy ! lol
Cash wise, If I walk along where the pubs are on a Sunday morning, I can find pounds sometimes !Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
"hallo hallo hallo what are you doing with that lamb?" Good idea though I'm sure the cats wouldn't notice!
Sunday morning sounds a good time, people tend to get careless with money after a few. I remember at school it was always frowned on the pick up money, although there always used to be pennies lying around.0 -
Whilst queuing at a Tesco Metro ATM recently the lady in front of me looked confused when it was her turn. She eventually turned to me and pointed at her card and then showed me her PIN. She had very bad cataracts and could not speak.
I worked out she wanted to take a fiver out so I keyed her PIN in put her hand to where the card pops out and then to where the money pops out.
She smiled and nodded her appreciation and it left me with a really nice feeling of doing a good deed especially as the area in Central London she stood a very big chance of being ripped off by the majority of the passing public.
Later the same day I was on my way out of a different Tesco Metro and noticed an upside down scratchard (Of the variety I buy if I do buy one) so I picked it up and it was completely unscratched. I took it home and scratched it and I won £5.00

Following up on the karma story.
Several years ago a good friend of mine at work was running short of money and asked to borrow £100 til next pay day. The guy was totally trustworthy, a real sweetheart so of course I lent him the money.
Tragically, the next week he suddenly and out of the blue got diagnosed with liver cancer. 2 weeks later he died. It was a heart breaking time. Of course I didn't care about the money, I was just distraught at losing him. I still really miss him.
The next month, I was struggling financially and unsure how I would make it to payday (money was very tight back then!), then walking to work through a car park, I saw £20 on the floor, went to pick it up and there was another 4 £20's nearby. No one else around at all.
I've never found money in the street before or after that.
Not told anyone that story before!0 -
I found £5 on a club dance floor before, I put it towards the taxi home!0

GTHOF, honestly I find coins almost every day in the street but then I am always looking for them. I have also found 3 fivers in the last 16 months. You would be surprised how much money is lying around on the floor once you start to really look for it. Today I am already 2 5pence pieces ahead and considering I've spent the majority of the day at my desk, that's not bad going!
Becky_Boo, that is amazing. What a story. The Universe is well outside of our comprehension. You needed it, you were given it. A nun once told a friend of mine how lucky she was to have both of her parents in heaven because, "They can be so much more influential in that realm".....well worth thinking about.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0
