    The 'Save £12k in 2012' thread! 13th Oct 11 at 9:10 PM
So, the title is pretty self explanatory, but this is the place to be in 2012

In 2012, the aim is to save £12k (or, any other amount if you like!) from 1st January 2012 til 31st December 2012. I know it's early, but it gives you the time to plan for how you are going to do it!

    RULES:
    - This challenge starts on 1st January 2012 00:00 and finishes on 31st December 2012 23:59.
    - Everything saved MUST be done between these two dates.
    - Any interest gained during this challenge on your savings can be counted!

    Hi Redbull

I think I'm going to aim for 10k as we're planning the holiday of a lifetime Nov 2013 to Australia and I'd also like to take DH away for his 30th march 2013, been looking at Vegas.. So all round I've worked out about £2000 for Vegas and £7000-8000 for Aus

Going to put together a little savings plan now, cos I'm sad lol

Im well and truely in....stick me down at £15,000!!! Should be debt free end of this year....end of Jan/Feb at latest....so will have at least 10 months to save it up. Suprised there aint a thread like this already, the how much can you save is more an irregular savings thing but this will keep me constantly checking in updating how im doing.

    £1,250 a month......Lets do it
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Suprised how many people have said they will give it a go considering all that iv heard on news just now is cost of living keeps going up and everyone's struggling. 15k by the end of 2012 will allow me to move out early 2013. Just before I turn 22 then my next plan will be mortgage free by 30.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

    Count me in.

In reality I can save £600 pm so thats £7200 over the year. Just need to work a little bt harder to get that total to £12000. Subscribing to this thread so that I stick to it.

I'm saving for my house deposit so I really do need to stick to it.

Im hopefully moving in December so January should see me automatically saving £60 extra a month

I think I should give this a go too! We're in a great position where we have 2 incomes at the moment, hence some big mortgage overpayments, but in 2012, we're having a baby so our savings will be much lower.
12k maybe do-able, I'll have to see, and maybe update the target once little 'un arrives - but please include me in this. Thanks.
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
