Has anyone heard of Money Claiming Expert, they claim to help you reclaim PPI on loans and credit card charges for a fee of £299 no win no fee. They are registered with a ministry of justice number CRM16588 based in Swansea, just wondered if anyone has had any dealings with them. Thankyou
P.S This is my first post not sure if it is in the right place.

If you have a search you will see that they have had a couple of mentions here.
Have a look at a few of our signatures, there are many people here who have successfully claimed without using the claim companies who will take a tidy % of what you can get yourself. They dont do anything magical, they do exactly what you yourself could do.
Take a look at the "stickies" at the top of this forum.
There are some wonderful people here who will be more than happy to get you through the claim without asking for a penny!

Hi there
I would have a go yourself, follow the guidelines of reclaiming on the link here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Complete the FOS questionnaire, these are instead of using template letters, keep copies in case you need to refer to the case later on, they have 8 weeks in full to respond with a decision, keep at them and do not trust any claims companies, this way you get to keep all your PPI if successful, if this fails, then you always have the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
You will find the FOS questionnaire further down the page on Stage one of reclaiming.
And send to whom set the finance up for you.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

My husband was contacted by this company claiming they could claim the PPI on his credit cards for him. We have gone done this route & have submitted a claim via them to Barclays.
Does anyone have any experience of them?
I would be gratefull for any feedback0 -
As you have actually gone ahead with them you must have had trust. It would have been cheaper perhaps (the cost of a couple of stamps) to use Money Saving Expert. My husband was contacted by this company claiming they could claim the PPI on his credit cards for him. Is this just to claim back the PPI for you?0 -
Hi there
I agree with Marshallka.
And also be wary using claims companies as well.
Lots have had problems and waiting 2 years down the line, and with the free help from this site, if successful you get to keep all your PPI refund.

I'm willing to bet that they cold called him too?
Let me guess, he applied for a loan with loan.co.uk in 2007. They lost lots of peoples details. Now people are being cold called and told that they are on a database whereby they are owed thousands of pounds for PPI.
I had a phone call from these people yesterday morning. They were insistant that I could claim back around £9000 of PPI (on 4 loans of £1k, £1k, £5k and £5k. I told them that I had NEVER taken out PPI and had always checked out the paperwork to ensure that PPI had not been added on. Despite all of this, I was told repeatedly that I was on their list, I had been highlighted as not having reclaimed etc etc.
Usually, I am quite on the ball and hang up but when he first spoke (thick welsh accent and fast speaking) I thought he said he was from here (MSE) so I let him continue.
Fast forward and I've handed him my CC details (I know I know!) to take £199.99 - fully refundable of course! Get to the quality controller and it's actually £299.99. You obviously misheard- err I don't bl00dy think so! Yet I still went ahead.
Alarm bells ringing, left right and centre and I still went ahead. They are really convincing even if you know you've never taken out PPI.
I have searched these people elsewhere and tried immediately to cancel the charge on my card (it's already gone through unfortunately) by phoning them and the card company. So now I have to do a chargeback.
I would like to bet money that you will never see your money from them.
As you've paid by CC, I would recommend you do a chargeback IMMEDIATELY. If you are actually able to persue a claim against missold PPI then do it yourself from advice given on here.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Many thanks for the information in you replies. You are right they did cold call him but it was regarding credit card PPi not loan but they do do all. My husband has already sent all the paerwork back & by coinsidence they rand again to say they can get our money back within 3months if we pay another £500 which they will charge to the credit card otherwise it will take 12months. We refused to do this as we smelt a rat. I wish we had done it ourselves now0

How long ago did you paY? There should be a cancellation period???Many thanks for the information in you replies. The cooling-off period and cancellations
When selling to consumers by mail order, phone, fax, internet or digital TV you must give them a cooling-off period during which they have an unconditional right to cancel the contract.
In the case of services, the cooling-off period normally ends seven working days after the day the order was made - or after written confirmation is received.
In the case of goods, the cooling-off period normally ends seven working days after the day the goods are received.
Consumers must inform you in writing - by letter, fax or email - of their decision to cancel.
Consumers' money should be reimbursed as soon as possible - and in any case within a maximum period of 30 days.0
