    Tink,

That sounds like the perfect compromise for both you and your Mom. Also, if it has been in the family and you are living in it, would you eventually be eligible for Right to Buy? I'm not completely upon how RTB works but it's worth enquiring?

I completely agree about older people and heating bills, it's appalling.

Hope all goes well socialising the dogs :)

Hey Tink, The move sounds exciting and I am so pleased you will have a garden. You will be able to meet your DF date sooner too. I'm sure your mum will benefit from having you all with her too :) Good news for everyone concerned :)

Theyre right that the tenancy can only pass once, and it has already been passed to your mother.
As above though, your mother should have a RTB and it might be possible for you to buy the house with her, you could look into that, but beware, you'll get a lot of flak if you ask on the HSAB board, because you're essentially depriving another family of a HA/Council house.
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...

Some of the other boards sound lethal! I'm glad I'm on here where everyone is friendly.

Good luck on your move, a good decision I think :)

Thanks for the messages. Unfortunately due to my debt and that I only work part time I have no chance of buying it. I did go to speak to the council with my mum yesterday and we asked what would happen when anything does happen to my mum (this is her biggest worry, not mine). They said that although the tenancy has passed once, they can't advise until something happens but obviously I wouldn't be homeless, they would have to find me somewhere else so I'll cross that bridge when it happens.

The biggest thing is helping my mum with her heating costs etc and she will finally have the internet and sky (I have the basic package). We have already made a few plans about what I will take with me and what I will sell (keeping my washing machine in her shed in case anything happens to hers). She will also finally have a new bed which she has needed for quite a while as DD already has a double bed there and she wants to take her new one with her so mum can have the one that is already there. There is also a lovely single bed in the room that will be mine that has hardly been used so that can be sold too. Also, I've noticed that I think my tv is on the blink so that will be something I don't have to pay out for in the very near future.

I'm actually scared to post on any of the other boards lol, I agree some are lethal and it took me long enough to start this thread with MT's encouragement so I just kinda stick round here and my usual diaries that I am subscribed to. You are all a fantastic bunch, have got me through a lot and are always there which I am very grateful for.

Hope everyone's week is going ok.

    Tink xx

I can't believe I forgot to mention that I had a phone call about my complaint with the gas supplier last night, well not the supplier but the firm they use to install the meters. They basically said they hadn't done anything wrong, that the engineer had took pictures of the meter after fitting it and that they had spoken to him and apparently he hadn't used flux to fit the pipe. This didn't go down at all but she wouldn't budge. I asked for proof of the pictures as I hadn't seen the engineer take any, she replied I can assure you he did as we have them on file. Ok send them to me then. I will have to see if they show up. She is now putting me back to the energy company stating that I am not happy with the reply blah blah blah so I answered her with I think that is the best idea as I didn't put the complaint in with you and I think that they should have contacted me first. I will not let this lie.

Then today I get a text from DD saying that there had been an incident at school which I would class as abuse to my DD. I'm usually quite relaxed about it and she comes home moaning about this girl quite a lot and I listen, advise but usually stay out of it. Did I today, not a chance. The school didn't even call me about it so I called them actually demanding a meeting with her year head. This isn't like me at all but mess with my DD and I flip. DD then called me on her lunch and I told her I was coming in, she has always asked me not to get involved and don't go in school, but she actually was pleased that I was going in. Apparently my DD found her voice after she was attacked and I think this was a shock to the other girl. Don't want to go into it too much on here but I actually felt drained when we came out of that meeting.

I can't believe this sort of stuff is happening in her last year of school. Some of it is so childish that you would think they were in year 7.

To top all that, my flipping cough has really come back now so I guess it is another trip to the docs. There must be a reason, I also get short of breath sometimes even using my inhaler.

Well tomorrow is another day so we shall see what it brings.

Be very careful about that. My ex was in the same position, his mother went into a home, he was given a week to move out, he squatted there for a bit and i think they finally found him a one bed, but it is miles away from where he was. it's very difficult for him to visit her now.

Hope DD is ok Tink, I don't blame you for getting involved, especially where she is concerned :)

I can't believe that about the meter supplier - to be so blase about something that could have been life threatening!

You never know about the future re: RTB - if your mum has been there forever she should get a large discount and once you have made headway into your debts it could be a good option. If you'd even be interested in buying it of course :)

Hi Kirsty. Mum has only been there about 10 years but my nan and grandad were there for about 50 years before that. I'll have to see what the future brings when I'm debt free.

Its day one of the dog socialising tomorrow. I really hope this goes well. I know Mr D will be fine, he is very submissive but Miss B is a crazy one. Fingers crossed.
