I've checked the Alamo UK site and the price more than doubles when I try SFO-SFO and then PHX-SFO :( Also, the dollar uk website does not let you chose non-UK locations.

Can you please let me know how you are finding these prices?

in some cases, the Alamo Brits website does come in cheaper sometimes (I don't normally say this! :D:D:D  )

keep in mind, I did a quote for 7 rental, not 11....... (1st to 8th)
    1st to 11th = £336 for a Fullsize car with Dollar.

My current favourite is Autoeurope, they must have reduced there margins, as rates are quite good.....

I have 2 cars booked via them, with Alamo.... I'll do Kiosk, goto garage, slip $20, and drive out in a tank hopefully :)

Sadly, I don't have the skill or the nerve to do the $20 bit. Wouldn't know where to start to initiate that one!

Finally booked the other day. Got flights out of Glasgow for £340 plus added the Westin for the first 6 nights. Have also now booked Platinum for the remainder. Early September. So finally booked and got a good deal on the flights at least. We've been noticing Vegas getting more and more expensive. Well less of the cheap express options - like a quick frozen margarita at Bill's, or a snack for a few dollars. It's even several dollars for a water in a casino shop these days! Anyway, there are still some bargains to be had if we look around, despite the exchange rate.

Still playing myVegas, so need to build up some points. Have just cashed in the last of my Social Rewards points, so got those to spend next trip. I had some that I wasn't really spending each time too, so will use all of those up this trip, since we won't have the 6 month expiry covered any more.

Going to miss the myVegas offers at GVR, RR etc, so looking forward to seeing what they're going to offer next.

I booked on Tuesday night for a short trip in Sept. I'd been tracking prices and they'd been fluctuating between £600 and £750 for the flights I wanted. Then on Tuesday for some reason £170 each way!!!!! So snapped it up (NCL-LHR-LAS and back) and went for premium economy on the way back. Still only £550 total. Chuffed to bits with that.
Prices have shot up again, was looking for a mate who wants to join us - its a combined 40th trip for 10 of us.
Mind the ba site is all over the place this week. Try a Ncl-las search and you get the message that they don't fly to that destination!!!
And my upcoming domestic flights are all showing as cancelled!!! That's accompanied by a website message that says they know that's appearing but is an error.

Wow, that price is impressive! Good spot.

It's not just BA whose website is all over the place, Virgin Atlantic sent me an email a month ago telling me of a change in my flight and brought it forward by 24 hours! After checking with them they informed me their website had thrown a wobbly and they'd only changed the time of the flight by a couple of hours, it had happened to hundreds of people apparently.

Virgin Atlantic have done that to us twice lately...

Received an email some weeks ago saying our flight to New Orleans had been moved to day before, with connection still the following day...ridiculous....had days of hassle trying to sort it.
Eventually was informed it was their system playing up,and we were in fact still on our original flights.
Received the same info about a full days flight change about 2 weeks ago...I've just ignored it,as our booking page still shows our correct dates.

I just do it the 'easy' way - I have a $20 in my hand resting on the desk and ask 'could I just check please, if there are any complimentary upgrades available?' If they upgrade, I say 'thank you so much! may I give you this for all your help?' If they don't upgrade, I just put the $20 away when we're heading to the room. Easy.

I don't like the 'sandwich' - the one time I tried it the $20 dropped on they clerk's keyboard and she said 'what's this?' and then I felt dumb.

I have also done it without the $20 visible and tipped if we were upgraded. People ask all the time, it's a 'you don't ask, you don't get' sort of place.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
