Just watched this video of a guy emptying his possesions on to the strip a month ago

It seems he may have lost his house and then lost his head

I think its sad if that is the case

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRilALsuguU&feature=youtu.be

it does seem incredibly sad, and the fact people are cheering and laughing at him shows how sick humanity can be

I'd be really interested to go to Roos N More, but how do people get there? We were'nt planning on hiring a car, so does anyone know if buses/trains run there at all?

    TIA

Crikey, do people still go to the Palms??;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

possibly but not sure how likley...it's kind of in the middle of nowhere...and if there are any public transport options, they may mean a loooong time waiting for the return? It's not a very big place and not a huge amount of shade...it's also likely if there is a bus or something it would drop you a long way from where you need to be so would have to find a way from there to Roos 'n More...we drove when we went but always hire a car...may be worth seeing if there are a few things you want to do that would make a one-day rental worthwhile? Some prefer not haivng a car in Vegas and I can understand that...for us, we love having the freedom to go where we want when we want. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Me and Mr Dontone had a nosey last year when we were going past after a game of bowling in Gold Coast (not the best game thanks to some silly old fart telling us of for spoiling his game - MEH!!)
anyho, there was some big Ice Hockey thingy going off inside Palms which made it rather busy and it had a lot of Americans doing high fives and daft "YEAH" yelling (as they tend to do) so we just had 45 mins pottering inside and i had a quick go of the video poker in which I won $45 :j
I suppose it's one of those places that you have to have a look inside to say you've been, but it's nothing special and a bit boring.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

The new Vegas terminal 3 opens tomorrow!!

Got to be better than the current terminal 2...

The worst thing about arriving in terminal 2 for me was always looking through the window as you disembark to the exhausted/broke people waiting for their flights home - couldn't get a bigger contrast of emotions to those just arriving!!

On my last two trips - even tried to avoid looking at the returners waiting to avoid picking up any possible 'negative vibe' !!!!;)

    HOTELS
Brief tips from our 3 night Vegas June visit.

    1. Flew into LA (had time). Cheaper by£100 per couple. Overnight LAX, easy drive to LAS. No jet lag
    due to sleeping at LAX.
    2. Booked Hotel through LowcostUSA-Bargain for Palazzo at £55 per room inc weekend.
    3. Politely declined to pay the resort fee on check-in. Waived, so saving of £40 per couple. :)
    4. Hired car with full CDW through Rentalcars.com. Easy and cheapest I found.
    5. Use restaurant.com voucher for ENVY. Still cost £180 for 4 adults. Superb meal.
    6. Got the $9.99 steak special at Ellis Island.
    7. Signed up to Players club at Main Street Station Garden Court Buffet and used the offer to get a 2 4 1 dining coupon (Buffet breakfast for 2 at about $5) IIRC.
    8. Got a free Vons\Safeway card at their CS (just ask) Save $$ on groceries and fuel).
    9. Got a $3 polystyrene cool box at Walmart. Cool drinks all holiday! (Easy with a car).Ice from grocery (or hotel )
    10. Bought 2 Walmart phones at $60 total with 120 minutes each for comms between couples.
Valid for 3 months-easy to reactivate for next years hols-or may sell on Ebay
Open to offers on here for discount price
    11. Bought America the Beautiful pass from Ebay ($45) Visited 7 parks Saved $100
Valid for a few more months so may re-sell on Ebay-Open to offers on here for a discount

Thanks to all contributors on here-still an excellent source of info :D

Hubby has booked for us to have a week in Vegas 12 - 19 September.
I'm really excited and looking at the shows/tours etc. Which sites would people recommend for booking a show (there are so many sites offering tickets0
I definitely want to do a Cirque de Soleil show and at least one other.
Any other tips on shows/tours appreciated. We are upwards of middle age so forget the night clubs but otherwise active
and want to see and do as much as we can in the week.
