It realy makes me cross seeing pennies lost when family will have the light on in the morning instead of opening the curtains.
Same with the kettle :0( Why will they insist on boiling around x4 mugs of hot water for x1 coffee when there is a one cup machine right next to the kettle? The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

Yes, I am completely with you on that. Or they go through rooms without switching the light off, until every light in the house is on. I end up going through the house after them switching the lights off  If I wasn't so short (and so pregnant), I'd start removing light bulbs to teach them a lesson!2016 MFW no. 47 £0/£3,000

Thanks Wombatchops, good to hear someone likes what I have to say.
I should not really complain. I am thankful to have family.
This Autumn I have invested in x4 new lightbulbs.
A recommendation of another MSE member. Energy saving daylight bulbs.
They cost £7 each from Amazon. I got them FREE from vouchers doing surveys.
The bulbs are 20W, equivalent to a normal 60W bulb.
A more blue light than the cream effect of the old energy saving bulb. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Amy's book The Tightwad Gazette is very dated and also very American but it is probably the only book I would never part with. It has saved me a fortune. I also recommend Steve and Annette Economides books but they are also for the American audience. They have a website and their emails are worth getting. Their books America's Cheapest Family and Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half will save you loads.
Thanks so much for that it's brilliant advice.
Thank you Bramble berry & Mcculloch too brilliant to hear that all 3 of you recommend the book & also the economic books. I love getting advice on what to read next so this is ace.
I love the American finance bloggers. There are tonnes on twitter. I agree that they have a lot to offer." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I was thrilled to find that the Economides are on twitter so I followed them & had a lovely tweet back thanking me. I shall look forward to reading all they say." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
