You could empty your pond out and your koi could die off.... and they could pull out of the deal leaving you without the koi carp and maybe with a dead dog in your garden oO
And they could pull out of the deal and leave you with a dirty great unsightly hole in the middle of the garden with a dead dog in it.
Either suggest they have the dog cremated in the short-term and bury the dog's ashes once they own the property, bury it somewhere else in the garden or make alternative arrangements.0 -

All seems a nightmare now. Yes the pond space would be ideal, but what do I do about the fish?
What did they expect you to do with your fish in the meantime? I know that you're not planning on taking them with you, but did they know that? If they turn up with the dog in the boot and a shovel, then they were likely expecting to do it straight away, so what would they have donw with the fish? And if they're filling the pond, what are they going to fill it with?0 -
You could tell the buyer that they can bury their dog, but that they'll have to bury it somewhere else in the garden because you'd need to do something with the fish, then they'd have to drain the pond (none of this is quick) and do they really want a dead dog in their car all week in this heat?Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I see their point but you can pay extra to 'ensure' the ashes you get back are your pets.
They can't bury him in the pond as its still got fish and water in it - are they getting a tipper of soil too to fill the pond at the same time they bury the dog and re-home your Koi?0 -
This is ruff!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"1

The new place doesnt have a pond nor did i want another one as they are a bu g g er to maintain.
I will put an ad on freecycle for the Koi and see if anyone bites. Problem is, the buyer cant keep a great dane in the boot of his Ka all week whilst I get rid of them.
Can you get a great dane in the boot of a Ka? I guess the rigor mortis has passed then?0 -
Good point about the top soil. I dont think they have thought it through.
I have some bags of bark in the shed but no sure whether they think i am taking the mick.1 -
