They are terrible. I had an item from Amazon allegedly delivered the next day but it actually arrived five days later. Another Amazon item allegedly delivered but which never turned up, and now, two weeks after Christmas, a phone from Carphone Warehouse not delivered.

In the end I closed my (very long standing) account with Amazon as they could only offer Yodel delivery on a number of occasions when I begged them not to (story in a previous posting). Amazon did not seem at all bothered to lose a customer and I am relieved not to have Yodel Stress every time I ordered something. Win Win.

I rejectted a Yodel delivery yesterday and the bloke couldn't understand why. It looked like it'd been slammed in a van door.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

  • I haven't seen any good comments about Yodel yet, so I would like to redress the balance. I have had several deliveries through Yodel and have found the delivery times were fast and the courier herself was very polite and friendly. And, no, I don't work for Yodel!

I ordered something about midday 31st Dec online from a supplier that uses Yodel.

Bearing in mind that 1st Jan was a bank holiday, it arrived 2nd Jan. :T

Conversely, I posted a letter using Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (admittedly 2nd class) on 15 Dec (before last collection) and it's still showing as not arrived. Looks like a claim going in for that one.
  • Yodel is extremely terrible. They were good in the past. I think maybe there are some changes in the company.

Back to last September, I made an order from Argos and delivered to my office by Yodel. They kept saying they delivered 2 times in 2 days to my office but the gate was closed so they cannot get in the permises. The serurity guard and post room said that there is no delivery from Yodel at all.

I called them the first day that I will pick the parcel up myself the next day. By the time I was there, they aid that the parcel was out for delivery. I have to get to their depot again at 4pm when the parcel returned to their depot.

My colleague made an order from Amazon, which was delivered by Yodel, had the same issue. They did not deliver on the first day.

It is not acceptable if someone need to take time off to wait for the delivery. Even if they don't need to take time off, they still need to make sure they are free at home to receive the delivery.

Probably delivered without getting a signature. Will still get you a book of stamps :)

i worked for yodel for a short spell. it was shocking to see how some of the parcels used to get booted round the depot with no regard for the contents. Yodel always take on too much work and because they treat their workers so badly, theres often people not turning up for work which just puts even more pressure on the drivers that are there. If the driver has parcels left at the end of the day that he hasnt had time to deliver then he could lose his pay bonus, so what they do with any left over parcels is say that they couldnt get access, or that they tried and nobody was in, anything other than the "ran out of time" truth

and if you wonder why its hard to get through to them on the phone... one of the managers at preston used to take it off the hook for almost the whole of the day... i suppose thats one way to avoid dealing with complaining customers

    Yodel are a JOKE!

I ordered a parcel from Studio catalogue on December 4th 2012, checked the online tracking and it arrived in the Yodel, Gateshead depot on 8th December 2012....

NO ATTEMPT at delivery, on 15th December I called Yodel to be told they couldn't do anything for 14 days, so by 22nd I gave up hope as it was a Christmas present..

Eventually found the depot in Gateshead on 27th December to be left waiting 30 minutes.. Then told..... "Why didn't you come and collect it earlier!!" - I explained that my 'courier' is paid to deliver the parcel to my door, or at least attempt delivery.. I am right, right?

Anyway, the parcel is 'missing', unhappy child didn't get her lovely present and I've got the bill outstanding for the goods!!
