Well since a first-hand incident over Christmas 2008, I detest EasyJet and will not use them regardless of allocative ticking.0

"The budget carrier has trialled allocated seating since April. Easyjet says the test showed it could be delivered "at the same time as maintaining strong levels of on-time performance and without adding cost"."
If the highlighted is true, then why are they charging for the service? They admit they can make the change without increasing their cost, they are taking the pure opportunity to increase profit by charging for allocated seating.0 -
Budget airline Easyjet is to introduce allocated seating for all flights from November to end the scrum of finding a place on its planes.
I don't think it will end the scrum mentality of most passengers.
I travel with a variety of airlines, many of which have allocated seating as standard, and there is always a scrum.
It makes me laugh as I sit back and let the scrum clear before boarding - the plane doesn't leave until everyone is on board and safely seated

having tried Ryan Air , a never to be repeated experience. Easyjet is the largest carrier from Gatwick now. I fly them 4-8 time a year
Speedy boarding was a joke , you were the first on a crowded bus!
I never bothered after that little episode. Seat allocation was to be expected ,all the charter airlines now charge, Monarch a ludicrous £100 round trip for two for "extra legroom"
There is the security factor , if a passenger is not on the flight and in his/her seat 20 mins prior to departure , the bags can be located in the hold and offloaded earlier for an on time departure
all in all, a good idea0 -
easyJet are charging €15 for seats with extra leg room on flights to the UK How long before Ryanair up their price from €10 to match?0

It's all about additional revenue stream really.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Exactly. I'm surprised it's taken the budget airlines to cotton on charging for seat selection. British Airways have been doing this for a while with some charges considerably higher than Easyjet. See http://www.britishairways.com/travel/choose-your-seat/public/en_gb and note that prices are "from".It's all about additional revenue stream really.0 -
I think you lot are forgetting if you check in 2 hours before you may not get your preferred area of the plane, but it's highly unlikely you won't get seats together. And all at no extra charge. I think it's great, and something Ryanair should copy.0

When I fly with easyJet I always like to check in online and print off my boarding pass from home. I only take carry-on luggage so don't require checking any baggage in. I wonder if I will now have to physically check in at the airport now if I don't want to pay for a seat. It does say £3 to preallocate any seat. Any ideas MSE experts?0
