No problems here. Cashback showing correctly - I took print outs to ensure I could prove what it was supposed to be. Direct debit transferred correctly. Quite happy with the service so far. The web interface seems better than Egg as well, with more detailed information available on transactions.
  • My direct debit was not taken yesterday - I now have a warning message on last month's statement saying that I have failed to make the minimum payment. Concerned that I'll lose my 0% balance transfer rate. Have sent a message but have yet to hear back. :(

We had no access to recent transactions for a few days, and it claimed we had not paid last month and that we were going to be charged £20+ interest (when we clear he balance in full every month). Since then it has stopped threatening us over our "missed payment" and has now "lost" all our cashback - over £60. When we rang we were told "we'll look into it".
However, the details on your transactions are better, and you have the ability to change a transaction's category if you want. I have yet to explore whether you can create your own categories, but I seem to recall the man-wife mumbling something about it.
We'll see. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt...and will check tomorrow to see if they've "found" our cashback. We'll stick them out until the cashback period ends and go from there.

  • I to am one of the unfortunate many to now be a "valued customer" of barclaycard.
Got the card and pin through ok, in fairness they did manage to stick it in an envelope and put the correct name and address on the front, however from this glorious start it's all gone downhill!!!

Logged in for the first time on wednesday to be met with a message:

"You have failed to make a minimum payment, this can mean you have broken the terms of a credit agreement and could result in legal action against you. It could lead to you having to pay additional costs and make it more difficult for you to obtain credit!"

Called the customer service line, spoke to the man in Bombay who assured me they would fix it and apologies apologies etc etc. Suprise suprise my callback that was supposed to be in 1 hour was 23 hours late!!!
Much more insincere apologies later, and promises that it was an error I'm still not satisfied..... Massively concerned that a computer generated default message on my barclaycard account will automatically be forwarded to a credit reference agency and thus a black mark against me.
I request , not unreasonably as their credit agency is equifax can they contact them and ask Equifax to confirm in writing my credit rating is not affected??

Oh no, far to difficult, "cant do that sir!!", but we'll send a letter confirming it's an error from Barclaycard and it'll be all ok!!

So Barclaycard you've already made potentially a very damaging !!!! up and now a simple letter is going to fix it??

Letter of my own sent to head of customer service.... Then to add insult to injury check online again today and they're only wanting to charge me interest as well.. Despite having been with Egg for 10+ years and always paying my balance off every month!!!.

Of course one cant simply tell them to ram the card where the sun dont shine and get a card from a loan shark as it will no doubt be better handled and more transparent, until such time as one manages to extract themselves from this malaise of Barclaycards making.

I'm a previous Npower customer and I thought they were bad!!!!! it seems we have a new Jedi of utter incompetence on the block!!!!
  • I was so glad to find the article on MSE today as I logged into Barclaycard for the first time this afternoon, to find that I had been charged interest on my statement! I've been with Egg for three and a half years now with absolutely no problems, never paid any interest, always paid off my balance in full, and was shocked to see the interest charge! At least it's not just me. I've sent a message to them online and hopefully they'll get it sorted VERY soon!
  • I logged into my Barclaycard Account two days ago only to find that the cash back that I had collected over the last number of months with egg had not transferred over.

I phoned their Customer Services, was told there was technical difficulties and that it would be put right in a day or two.

I have logged back in tonight only to find that my cash back has not transferred over.

I will be in touch this week to make sure that this problem is put right.

I had interest charged to my account when i shouldn't have.
Woman on the phone blamed me for egg and Barclay card having a different policy on refunds (and therefore why they deemed i had only made a part payment rather than a full payment).

I also contacted them because i have been unable to change my card PIN (neither has a friend of mine). I was told that there was nothing wrong and that it was a fault at 3 seperate ATM's in Bradford and grimsby!!!!

I had a Barclay card several years ago (I think Goldfish got bought out by them). I now remember why I dropped them then!

Bring back Egg! I want a nice green card and great service, not a boring card and nightmare service!

Its only a matter of time before they start dropping the cashback rate and other benefits that made Egg stand out as one of the market leaders!

Charged me interest when I paid the balance in full last month

also brought my statement and payment date forward

now online and there website and transactions seem to b slow to show

1.5 million egg card customers I think they bought I bet when the cashbackis paid in feb/march they will be down to 300k customers from the original ones with this service

I liked egg as they never let me down and the card worked these jokers who took over are off to a bad start on week 1.
  • Charged me interest as well despite paying in full every month - though its now been credited back to my account

However the cashback from the old Egg Card still hasn't been transferred over!

Cant believe how poorly they have managed this
  • My cashback is also only showing for this months transactions. I've not bothered to chase as its a known problem. Site seems pretty good though from what use I've made of it.
