If customers continue to exceed their data allowance, they will be charged the following:
- If you have no data bundle. 50p a day for 25MB and 50p for an additional 10MB.
- If you have a data bundle. You can pay £5 a month for 500MB for your entire contract or £7.50, which allows you to cancel at any point..
Hold up. If I'm reading that red bit correctly once you are charged £5 for going over the 500MB limit for one month, you will then be charge £5 each month going forward even if you no longer go over the limit?0 -

Vodafone's seemingly unethical behaviour regarding this covered elsewhere:

Specifically (among other things) bitterwallet are of the opinion that Vodafone should be giving 30 days notice of this change of what BW think is a core term of the contract, and people should be able to terminate existing contracts for the same reason:

It says "If you have a data bundle" these charges are for if you go over the limit of that data bundle (500MB for some phones and 1GB for the Nexus 1 and iPhone).No.. if you choose to buy a bundle of 500mb then it will be £5 a month and you're locked in to a contract or £7.50 if you don't want it for the whole contract.
Reading the vodafone forums, it suggests that you would be charged £5 each time you went over your limit (after the initial period of warnings). But reading the MSE article it suggests that once you are charge £5 for going over the limit, then you would also be charged £5 per month ongoing after that whether you subsequently went over the limit or not.
Example using what I read on the vodafone forum (assuming you had been warned and you were now being charged for going over the limit):
Month 1 - Data usage 150MB over limit - Charge £5
Month 2 - Data usage under limit - no Charge
Month 3 - Data usage 50MB over limit - Charge £5
Month 4 - Data usage under limit - no Charge
Now this is what I understand from the MSE article:
Month 1 - Data usage 150MB over limit - Charge £5
Month 2 - Data usage under limit - Charge £5
Month 3 - Data usage 50MB over limit - Charge £5
Month 4 - Data usage under limit - Charge £50 -

There are a lot of people who are struggling to get Vodafone to admit that they (the customer) have been made aware of this change to the terms of the contract. They (Vodafone) have effectively undermined their own eForum reps because they (Vodafone) are saying that just because Vodafone employees have made specific claims relating to changes in the way the FUP will be administered after June 01st, that this does not represent official notification of the contract changing. Therefore, you can't end your contract on the basis that it has changed.
