What's the deal?
WH Smith has started selling online, full-size versions of over a hundred big-name magazines, like Top Gear, In Style, Elle, Good Food Magazine and loads more. As a special offer, it's offering anyone who registers now one free download of any mag of their choice, many of which are worth £4 to £5 - this is available to the first 10,000 people.
To see what's available, check the list (click through the different categories on the left hand side).
Update Note. 2.55pm, 4 June. This has been sent out in our Free Weekly E-Mail to over 2 million people, and the WHSmith system seems to be struggling to cope with the demand. MoneySavers' feedback suggests patience may be the key; if it doesn't work straight away, try coming back later.
How does it work?
You need to register for free on WH Smith's website. One page will ask if it's your first time using this eMagazine service; click this then follow the steps to install its special 'Delivery Manager', which is basically a fancy way of browsing the magazines and getting them onto your computer. Once this is all in place, you can select the title of your choice, and it will transfer onto your PC.
Once it's there, you can read it whenever you like, plus move it to another computer, or a friend via email or a USB memory key - or print it (though they're big, so you could just print the relevant articles).
Anything else?
There's no obligation to buy any more magazines after you've downloaded the free one, though if you want to, each costs the same as it would on the newsstands. Read the Magazine Offers thread for more ways to get cheap and free glossies.
This offer is limited to the first 10,000 downloads, as per WH Smith's agreement with the publishers involved, so if you want one, get it as soon as you can.
At the moment, this is only PC compatible (sorry Mac users), and you'll need Windows 2000 operating system or newer.

There are loads of popular magazines to choose from, around 100 in total. You need to register some details and download a small piece of software.
