Weekly Flylady Thread 26th May 2008

Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.

THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.

Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

GnB.. glad you are feeling a bit better.. though if you are anything like me you'll be off again in half an hour!! lol We just had a phone call from MIL.. immediately assumed hubbys cousin-in-law had succumb to the lung cancer.. thankfully he is still with us.. but his great aunt snapped her earthly coil this morning from a virus contracted in a mental health nursing home.. so it is all good fun and joyous exploits in here too! Good job most of my clothes are black!! (If I can possibly get out of a funeral I will!!!) RIP Auntie Groan

I'll give it a go again. Monday looks quite easy, but OH and kiddies at home so whether or not it will be is another matter. Going to try to get kiddies to help get organised with their toys and bedrooms whilst they're at home for the week (we are due to move in 6 weeks and I don't know how long it is likely to take)

    Another week, another fresh start.

I have every good intention of trying to keep up this week as not at work altho I will have an extra person here to entertain as one of my neices is coming to stay until friday so we hope to be out and about. DD is upset the other one is not coming but she doesnt want to be away from her mum for that long - I think because her uncle lost his 32 yr old partner due to a brain haemorrhage 2 weeks ago and has left his 9 yr old stepdaughter without a mum bless her, he gained custody this week and they have all been staying together at my brothers this weekend, so it was a bit close to home for her.

I havent kept up with all the thread last week only bits n pieces so my apologies.

Hugs to GnB for the loss of your friend - life is so sad sometimes, perhaps its true that only the best die young

hope your DS is ok pigpen, did you get a diagnosis yet? Hugs for another sad loss

AnW's mum - hope you have a great holiday with some happy memories of your past adventures

michelle - hang in there with the BF and I hope the mastitis clears real soon. I never suffered it so cant offer any advice only a hug for you and your dear boys

I'm going to go and plough through the old thread to catch up so will add more later.

    Back in a bit ...........

travis - sorry I missed you yesterday, nice to see you still around, and hope the beer festival went well, hic

dusty and witchypoo - happy hols (altho you may have gone already)

Daisydoll - i sympathise re the loud music, our neighbours love to party in the summer and they have their music outside which means we cant have the windows open. In an attic room its stifling

zarazara - hope this is a better week for you

nicki - have you tried asking for one of the juniors to do your highllights on a training day. When I have mine done she is supervised by the guy in charge and I only pay half the price. Never had a bad lot yet

Gemish - welcome to your first full week and dont worry if you flag half way through the week, I still do that and been here the best part of a year!

justamum - couldnt spot a reply earlier, but I wondered like you about the abbreviations. I think OO is offers over and FP is fixed price

Pink Fairy - I loved the poem, I've saved it and hope that I can pass it on to someone to read at my funeral (which I'm hoping is a verylong way off)

Well I think thats it for now
    xx
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Im in again.

Been working today and we have spent half the day watching the police action. There are some woods near the bungalow and all sorts of people and things go down there. A car had been there since yesterday and someone must have reported it. A plain car turned up with a police officer in plus a transporter. It was newish Astra but all bashed. I feel sorry for the owners. Just as the transporter was pulling onto the main road a motorbike and a car full of young lads turned up. The police clocked them and they saw her then it was like Wacky races.

Soappie Glad you had a good holiday.

g&b Sorry to hear about your colleague. An awful shock for you all.

daisydoll Hope the music has quietened down.

pigpen Sorry to hear about DH great Aunt.

no not yet.. the bloods were done Thursday so assuming they don't go astray it'll be Wednesday probably.. I don't think it is diabetes TBH.. it is more likely to be something to do with his growth hormone or just growing up!
