Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.
THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.
Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your spring flowers and sowing
Ok here goes this week
This week as the children are off school we are doing a little list for them so they can get involved and help the parents. For the sake of my sanity we have mummies and daddies.. feel free to change it in your own list to whatever you wish! but it has to be nice.
Usually we continue doing this ourselves and feeling unappreciated for the hard work we put in to keep the house looking nice and safe for our families and it would be lovely if the young people woukd be kind enough to help.. I know the minimeister helps and the mini-nicki does too sometimes.. So.. if you are under 18 then the green lists are yours!!!
And on behalf of myself I'd like to thank my children and everyone elses children for taking the time to join in.. we come to blubber at your school productions and see your hard work, we come talk to your teachers and are proud of your achievements, we help with your homework and teach you to tie your laces and blow your nose.. and we hope you enjoy taking part and that you can learn from helping us too, this is what we do.. day in and day out..

As it is Easter Holidays & everyone has chipped in this week I am declaring a flylady holiday for the weekend.. Don't get used to it you mummies.. lol.. it is going to be back with a weekend list next week. I want you ALL as a family to do something together.. even if you do homemade pizzas and sit and watch a film.. Just spend some time together while you can.
This is my tribute to a lady I know online who sadly lost her son just over a year ago (18th March). She won't ever get to spend time with him again, while I do not know the pain of losing a child as I am very lucky to have all of mine, I do know that it must be the worst thing for any parent so suffer. So, I want us to spend this time together and remember how fortunate we are that we can be together and not live in fear of our lives like so many people in this world and just enjoy one anothers company.
One more thing.. Mummies and Daddies.. can you let me know which children have been VERY helpful please?? I will be needing their address too so if you could PM me...
You lot just get dog biscuits I have something MUCH nicer for the young people!!
Until Sunday.. enjoy!

- Go play a game with the children who have helped you today!!
- Clear and wipe the table
- Load the dishwasher (DW) if you have one
- Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with things that are all the same colour and switch it on?? This is a very important thing to learn.. many big clever daddies struggle with this job.. even our daddy.. so if you can do this.. you are cleverer than him!
- If you are a bigger little person could you wipe over the fronts of the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer/washing machine.. sometimes you need to check the insides too as they get a bit sticky..

Clear a hotspot
Vacuum hall and stairs
Extras
- Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
- Wipe front door.. inside and out!
- I think the children who have been most helpful today should decide what you are having for dinner.. and that doesn't mean a takeaway.. we will consider that for the weekend if you are doing a fabulous job!!! Maybe if they are big enough they can help or better still cook for you!!
- Sort out all the shoes.. make sure there are 2 of them all and put them nicely on the shelf or in the box. Encourage the person who has the most to get rid of a few pairs they never wear!
- Oh.. I think you'll like this.. everyone gets a carrier bag.. and spends 5 mintues running all over the house putting rubbish in it.. not other peoples things just rubbish, scrappy papers, junk mail, used envelopes and things like that.. after 5 minutes we weigh all the bags and see who has the heaviest bag. The winner gets a treat (and so does everyone else!)
- Pick up all your own things from the front room and put them away in their homes
- Water any plants in the house.. I always forget so this is my childrens job usually.
- If you are a bigger little person could you vacuum the floors once they are clear of stuff?
Level 1

- Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with the sheets from mummys bed?
- If you are a bigger little person could you spend 15 minutes tidying or vacuuming on the landing.. whatever needs doing.. I am sure there is a job that you can do that would be greatly appreciated!

Have to laugh at your list Pigpen
re Children's List
I asked DS (4) to put some stuff in the WM and he said that he could not put dadddy's top in the wash as it was white and the other stuff was dark. Looks like I am training him well. Dh well he doesn't even know where the WM is.
Ds loves helping me in the kitchen so he will love you for the list. Loves cleaning the doors and the windowsOnly problem is he can only get so high

Pigpen my boys are only off on Monday, they have 2 weeks off in April instead.....you have however included some of my DS2s fave jobs, wiping the cupboard doors especially so that he can cover the kitchen floor in water, oh and he loves buttons, he's been able to use the washing machine since he was 5, he sorts the colours and whites fine now but we have a basket which has seperate sections so got used to it that way. He can't tie shoe laces or fasten a zip but working washing machines etc definately better than his Dad! (Who would need a map to find it!!)
Anyways, I'm in, might get myself a head start tonight so I can get the maor jobs done to free up study time.
(PS Happy Easter littlemeister and no letting your Mam do any skiving this weekespecially with your sleep over coming up)
One day I might be more organised...........

I'm in - DD can earn her keep this week as well as I've just promised to redecorate her room :eek: More to follow later when I've answered her knocking...Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Well the "mummy's" list seems to be mercifully shorter this week! The children, I'm sure, can help me with their chores. Also I've told them that they must, on pain of death, keep their own bedrooms tidy this holiday. To be fair DD1 has managed to keep hers tidy since she tidied up over a week ago, so medals for her :T
My DH does absolutely sweet FA around the house. He's always dropping massive hints that the car needs cleaning. All he does is sit on the sofa wrapped in a blanket complaining that he's cold/tired//bored/got a blinding headache. Either that or he spends the whole day on the computer, and will take himself off to bed very early (he went about an hour ago). He rants and raves that the house is always a mess if one thing is out of place.
I managed to rearrange the dining room today and it looks much better. DH still needs to sort out his boxes from the move, but I won't hold my breath. Tbh I don't know why I put up with him. He's a pain in the neck and very boring to live with. The children love him though so I'll have to put up with him.0 -
I'm in this week - let's see if I make it to to the end of the week for onceI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
