Old Style Diary Archive - JUN 05

Up with the lark, hung out the washing that I'd put on before I went to bed.
Had fresh baked bread ready for breakfast using the timer on my bread machine.

Cleaned all the mirrors with some vinegar solution and buffed up with newspaper.

Our very own new shopping centre opens tomorrow, :j but one of the stores was holding a 10% off preview day today :j :j - armed with my invite I headed off at lunchtime to see what bargains I could snap up ... got a free "Chill Out" cd (put that into the gift cupboard) and several free samples of perfume/aftershave. Tried on a variety of clothes, felt a million dollars! Perked me up no end :D Decided I didn't *need* them, put them back and spent a grand total of .... Zilch!! LOL Yup, it's true, they simply couldn't convince me to spend any money, not even with 10% off :o

Stopped off to get some fruit and veg on the way to the school and tonight, we're going to go to the beach and collect some more seaweed for garden mulch. (Must check the tide tables!!!)

How's your old style day going?

I'm not a great morning person, but gave boys their 2nd brekkie (OH does first round), made pack up for school and got DS1 ready and off.

This morning did 4 loads washing and on line, some ironing (whilst watching Voyager :D) Cleaned living room properly with DS2 helping. Did DS2's speech therapy and played with his trains (with him, not on my own :D)

Lunch, DS2 to pre-school, the spent ages cleaning bathroom and loo - one of those days when I washed/bleached/disinfected every wall, tile, door, skirting board, pipe etc as well as white ware!! Did errands, did school run, made tea,

Kept popping on here as and when I bypassed study. Now off to have long walk with boys, in the woods. We'll see if Mr TM has tidied kitchen by time I get back - I doubt it, he'll make mowing our 2 little lawns last all night, I reckon :D

Tonight - lots of paperwork to file and must sort out boys summer clothes now the sun has arrived. And lots and lots and LOTS of ironing to do.

Wednesday is always my day off work.
Up early to do my comps on MSE, got washing in, started to de-frost chilli.
Took kids to school, eldest doing GCSE English today (very stressful times at moment).

Did a weekly shop at local kwik Save, which is closing soon to re-open as Somerfield, so there was alot of bargains, end-of-liners etc.

Back keep shopping, clean house, more washing, more MSE comps.

Took my ornimental Gourds outside (from porch-temp greenhouse!), stakes them up.

    Weeded garden, more MSE.

Started NVQ (assessor coming to work in morning, done nothing for a month! Too much MSE.)

Cooked chilli pasta bake. helped stressed teenager with GCSE French for tomorrow.

Hot day, watered garden, and next door who is away.

Tried to start costing out staying in Edinburgh in august for afew nights.

    Cleaned MY car (Corsa).

    More MSE.

    Nite nite!!

Crawled out of me pit at 7am looking immaculate (as they used to do on Dallas:p )

Fed three Mathlets and two cats and grunted at Mrs MATH before she got out from under me feet, ie. went to work.

Packed lunches and walked kidz to school, we bobby between two homes and have just got back to home one so I was duty bound to catch up on the local gossip from postie on the way.

Back home and four loads of washing under me belt I whizzed over the bathroom and vacuumed all floors. Watering some drought ridden houseplants on the way. When everyting was show-home perfect:rolleyes: I settled down with a quick caffine fix and took time to stitch a head back onto a well loved and balding teddy. Struggling to contain my glee at the prospect of 3 hrs ironing that lay ahead.

Picking the kidz up from school they asked "What's for dinner?" It was lucky that I had already cunningly planned to do my 15 minute tune pasta salad and a rhubarb crumble which we ate outside cos it was so warm.

It wouldn't work with either a fish or a tarantula to be honest, even if I was brave enough to get that close to her

Only thing I can really do is leave her alone so as not to stress her and just observe her, but as she hasn't moved at all for the last couple of hours it's not looking good :(

And to get back on topic ... after my really busy and exhausting day I'm off to have a lie down and watch a bit more BB :rotfl:

I don't do housework when it's hot and sunny, so just whizzed round bathroom and kitchen and had a quick tidy. I'd like to say that I then donned my bikini and reclined in the garden, but in reality I cursed the fact that last years suntops have shrunk over the winter, so I breathed in and spent the day painting my little wooden greenhouse, chatting with the neighbours and generally pottering.
I then made and ate some gorgeous Haddock with Jersey potatoes, carrots, peas and sweetcorn with parsley sauce. Off now to water my tomatoes.
