Mobile Affiliates (CoolNewMobile+PhoneBoxDirect+Phones2YourDoor) in Administration

I don't claim to be the first to see this but I think it should now have its own thread rather than being spread over the PBD and CMN threads as all the previously discussed issues are now redundant and those like me with contracts with these companies probably need a single point of reference.

Those who have bought recently and still in the 7/14 day distance selling regulations cooling off period should probably contact their network operator immediately.
For the rest of us the only possible crumbs of comfort I can see are the threads on how Voda has allowed customers of Dialamobile to end their contracts early. (and reported on this forum also PBD but this seems very quick?)
Otherwise presumably there are still some commissions to be paid out by the networks but I suspect we are probably pretty far down the list of creditors and these payments no doubt only cover a small proportion of the outstanding cashback claims.

Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
Where is the link to CNM???????????? As far as I can see it refers to PBD closing and bringing in the liquidators, not put in administration.

Was expected for CNM to go bust.... just like the others... MobileRainbow is likely to follow suit soon with their ongoing problems with the "concerned department".
Reputable dealers are Mobiles2YourDoor (part of Phones4U), e2save / CarphoneWarehouse... the cashback offers aren't excellent, but at least they are less likely to go bust in the next few months.0 -

e2save are only still about because carphone carry them, carphone were short of their target by 20 mil this year because of their online sales dept. anyway, hopefully cash back deald will be in decline after the meeting in the house of commons about it on tuesday. It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

With which company? If its with a company currently trading, then definately go via Money Claim Online and request the full whack. If its a company which has gone into Administration (i.e. Cool New Mobile), I wouldn't waste my money suing them, as you'll be the last one on the list of creditors.0 -
thanks, its cool new mobile.0

Bad news for you that CNM have gone bust. You should contact your network provider (i.e. Orange) and ask them to downgrade the tariff, or politely ask them that you want to get out of the contract because you can't afford it.... this is de-ja-vu over MobileConnections / DialAMobile Ltd which went bust a few months ago here in Birmingham.
It was on BBC Watchdog aswell, and heavily in the local media. Just explain to the network that you took the contract out in good faith based on the retailer (CNM) reimbursing you the line rental over the duration of the contract, and you now cannot afford to be held liable in a contract.
Legally, you can't do anything, as you took out a mobile contract with the network airtime provider (i.e. o2 / Orange), via a retailer. The network provider has a contract directly with you. The cashback contract was with the retailer (CNM), and seeing as they've gone bust, there's no contract left with them... but you're still tied down with the airtime providers contract (if that makes sense)..... so don't hold your breath expecting the network to downgrade. It's at their discretion.0
