Cash account from LTSB now with debit card

Options
From NOW ON all new cash accounts will recieve a debit card which they can get cash back in shops when paying for goods or use it as they do now at any LTSB cash point. All newly oredered cards for existing accounts will have this facility too. If a card is processed on the old 'zip-zap' machine by a shop this may send the account overdrawn if the funds have been withdrawn.

  • Hi,

I just checked LTSB website, and does not show anywhre that a debit card is available on Cash Account.

Have you got an Cash Account? Have you received a debit card?

    Thanks
    MS
  • I work for them and it was announced on Wednesday to us. The web site is yet to be updated.
  • It will still only work in LTSB cashpoints for withdrawals though.

Just out of curiosity, what made them change their mind on having a debit card with this account now? Do you know if it will be VISA Electron, Solo, or Maestro?

    Why?

Most basic bank accounts work with any cashpoint machine though....
  • Lloyds cash points and the post office only.
  • Sounds good to me. What's the story for people with existing cashpoint cards? Can you just go into a branch and ask for a new debit card? Or do you have to wait until they expire? Or do you, erm, lose your existing card?
  • I know they can keep your current card active until about 30 days after the new one is ordered, and I think using the new one invalidates the old one automatically. But they (with me anyway) always arrive exactly 4 days after I have requested one, so if you had to lose it it would not be too much of an inconvience (unless they catch something from Abbey).James
  • Just go into branch and ask for replacment.

What will be the debit system for the debit card (i.e. VISA, VISA Electron, Solo, or Maestro)?
  • It's been on the cards for nearly a year.
