Welcome to the weekly flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement, we now have levels. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.
THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN
Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.
A few of the basics before we start the week:
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Nighttime routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

Hello,
Had a fab time at Chopwell wood festival, spent too much money, but never mind it's only once a year! Back now and everyone including the dog is shattered.
Plan to be a bit more successful with my flying this week, however every time I make a plan something goes haywire, but lets stay optomistic!!:rolleyes:WW lost 33 lbs so far, [strike]13st1lb[/strike] [strike]12st13lbs[/strike] [STRIKE]11st12.5lbs[/STRIKE] 11st11lbs0 -
I'm with you on the much improve galantvr4 but being last week of term and something on EVERY day aswell as appointments inc dentists etc, I am hopeful but doubtful at the same time.
I need to add what I didn't get done over the weekend aswell at points over the week. I do have this evening to do some more but unsure how productive it will actually be. Monday DS2 at doctors, then sports day, then youth club, then Mister Twisters on the evening. Going to be busy! Unsure at which point I'll fit in posting Tuesdays list but will somewhere. One day I might be more organised...........

Hi, I'm going to start doing this this week, but my problem is all level one, two and three plus the extra stuff NEEDS doing desperately!! Do I try and get it all done and fail
or shall I start small and get level one and two done and forget the rest till next week?
Advice from those who have 'cracked it' welcome!! I do need the help to sort out the house and turn it into a home rather than a dump and I am quite excited about starting :j2025 - Declutter to Move House
Items Decluttered in 2025: 51

Thanks for the new thread Lil_me, sounds like you have plenty to do this week and if you're still poorly Flying should come last..
Galantvr, I'm ashamed to say Chopwell Wood is on my doorstep virtually and I've still not been. Hope the festival was good fun!
1 dozen lemon curd fairy cakes made and supper on the go too. I feel a good week coming on and on top of things for a change. Somebody quote me on that on ,say, Wednesday or Thursday when I'm upside down again!

If you try and get every room up to level 3 in one week you might get overwhelmed and give up. Just try and do level 1 and two each day and maybe one or two little extras. You will get the rooms round again next week to do a few more bits.0

Evening all and welcome Kayjay
Had one of those days when I have not been able to settle to anything - for no reason so I have done 10 minutes
garage sort
weeding
emptying pots
paperwork
DS3 clothes
Hope to settle to more tomorrow. Going to do 10minutes DS2 clothes now and then the Sunday night ironing with the telly - I really need to do more than 10 minutes on this!
DS1 cut the grass front and back. His behaviour has been awful this week so have given no pocket money. Said if he cut the grass and collected 27 golf balls he could have half. Liking a challenge he said I can find 30 so I said ok do it! He did.
Probably pop back later as I expect you will all be in doing your lists - I'll do mine later too.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Must agree with Pollybear aswell, if you aim for higher than you can do then it's a real let down if you don't manage it. Maybe aim for one or two then if you get higher great
Just remembered I also need to ring what will be DSs new school, they still haven't called to say the new uniforms are in which was supposed to be beginning of last week, with only one manic week left I need to get it sorted. They don't enforce uniform but DS likes to wear it. Best add that to my ever growing list.
Right going to take an idea from dusty tonight and do some 10 minute jobs, DP has gone out for a bit so at least he won't be in my way, after getting the boys to bed of course. One day I might be more organised...........

Evening, hope you're all well.
Thanks for the list lil_me
I'm going to try my best to do something this week - last week just didn't happen. At the beginning of the week my friends mum (62) died of a heart attack and my friend was the attending paramedic. It was a complete co-incidence that she was on duty inthe area and she even managed to get her mum to hospital but she had another attack and the doctors couldn't bring her back.
:cry:Next I took ds to the hospital to have his plaster cast off his leg - hurrah! We had to wait ages which isn't good with a scared 3yo and he screamed and cried so much while they took the cast off it made my heart ache. Then he just wouldn't walk for the doctor so we have to go back another time to get it checked!
:cry:At the end of the week I found out a friend who had bowel cancer last year and beat it has secondaries and hasn't got long left. She is only my age and like me has 2 small children. Last year when she went in for her first operation she asked dh and myself to look after her dh and children if anything happened to her and now it's happening again.
I have sobbed my way through this last week.
So, this week:
I'm going to try to do at least Stage 1 of lil_me's list every day
I have friends' mums funeral Thursday so need to practice a reading
We are going on holiday on Friday for 2 weeks so have to pack
Get my hair cut (a shaggy dog has nothing on me!)
Good Luck everyone!
Edit: sorry guys, rereading that it's a very depressing personal post but it's the kinda week I've had.......
"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0 -
Elizzy, depressing and personal it may be but I am pleased that you feel relaxed enough to share it with us and hope that the support on this thread will help you through this really tough time. Unfortnately life is full of these ups and downs but what matters is being able to seek comfort in something to help us through. Will be thinking of you all, please pop in when you have the time, even if it is just to say hello or share your day, if you don't have time then I am sure everyone will understand and will be thinking of you regardless. Never think oh it's too bad/depressing to share, we're here to listen, those who don't want to don't have to read it. Just hope that you manage to at least relax a little when you are on holiday. One day I might be more organised...........
