Hi all,
Martin is advising to hangout and wait to see if EDF Energy and Scottish Power drop their prices before making any rash decision on switching energy providers. However EDF Energy have effectively reduced it's rates to undercut British gas though it's not being advertised.
It's more of a product offer open to the first 350,000 customers. The deal is they are offering a reduction on core rates, works out to around a 16% reduction on the Gas and 6% on the Electricity which is capped without any premium until September 2008. Offer applies to Dual Fuel and electricity only customers, pre-payment are eligible too! Basically EDF are offering March 2006 prices which look very competitive. This is not an official price drop but this is a product offer to ensure they keep undercutting British Gas, like they have done for the last 18 months!!
This also applies to existing electricity and dual fuel customers, however you will have to phone up and ask for it.

Just be careful if you have an EDF Online tariff like V3.1 or 4.1. These rates will probably be dearer than what you are already on.0

Your spot on with your assumption:think: just checked with EDF billing I'm dual fuel on tariff online v3 which equates to a lower rate than that offered on the product offer.
Not that i disbelievebut could anyone who takes up the offer obtain the tariff rates for both gas and electric as separate supply and also the dual fuel rate that they offer exc vat and inc vat.

i am a Dual Fuel customer and just phoned up for this offer
Effective from 5th April
Gas
Intial Rate 3.412p (i was on 3.93)
Then 2.18p (i was one 3.2)
Elec
Intial Rate 13.05p (i was on 13.87)
Then 7.82p (i was on 8.22)
I have seen a reduction for Gas 13% and elec 5.9%
There are no tie in so i can switch again if the rates are not attractive in the following weeks0 -
Brilliant - I am on the standard rate but have just been added to the April change !Never buy a stupid dwarf -

When did you join to get tariff v1?0 -
Thanks for this. Not sure what tariff we are on other than it is online. DH going to ring and check and request cheaper if possible.
Thanks again
