Daily Thread for 2nd March

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 02/03. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all.
Despite being half dead when I got home yesterday, I now can't sleep. Typical.
Have been away with work since wednesday lunchtime and it's knocked all my usual routine out of whack. I never even notice I have a routine until something happens.:rotfl:
At least I got back safe and sound. (And managed to fit in a little shopping while in big London town:o - note to self, update spreadsheet with all spends.)
Need to meal plan for next week (extra frugal living to make up for trip along King's road), also needs to be healthy eating. Why do I think that calories eaten in a hotel room or on a plane don't count? They surely do!
Right - off to catch up on what you lot have been up to.
have a good one.

'morning Peem and Essex-girl and every one else who follows :hello:
I've not been around a lot the past couple of weeks, but I've got the day off today so I'll really be able to be old style (that is do a few jobs and then back on the computer, do a few jobs and back on the computer etc etc :rotfl::rotfl:)
I did quite well yesterday with a batch of butter, two batches of scones and one Soda bread made. Also made a lovely evening meal with a cooked cauliflower, smothered with cheese sauce, some fried chopped mushroom and bacon and then sprinked with a mix of breadcrumbs and left over cheese. 15 minutes in the oven and it was done. It was delicious and we finished off the whole dish between the two of us
Have a lovely OS day everyone
Edit: 'morning Kyle ... you popped in just before I postedEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -

Morning!!
Lovely sunny fresh morning here! Not got alot planned today, maybe abit of ironing (or maybe not!!)
My sister came to visit last night for a few hours she is over staying at my mums as my mum has had my nephew for half term, and he should have been back at school on monday, but my sister could get time off work to come up from wales to collect him!!!! She makes me so mad at times, as she said what am i ment to do? i work full time and dont have any childcare in school hols?? I feel like saying start acting like a parent and do what other working mums do and get it sorted, she doesnt even know when school hols are, so a few days before when i menson my kids are breaking up she panics and sends her son to chesterfield, and doesnt worry about how long he will be off school for!! Sorry moan over.
Hope ds1 school placement comes through today, he was so looking forward to finding out yesterday.
Hugs to all Donna

Good morning everyone!
It's clearly been the week for children being *bashed*. DS was at football training last night, when another boy lost his temper with DS, got him in a headlock, onto the ground, and punched him. DH said it wasn't too bad, but he might have a mark. Edit - he's just come down and it's a shiner!!
A friend of mine has exams next week, that she's been studying for for ages. She's asked if I want to accompany her out for a meal next Friday to celebrate her *freedom* - course I do  . She's working in York, so I'll get the train in, and we'll come back in her car.
DS is off to Scout camp this weekend     In a bunkhouse, not tents, but I'm glad he has a good quality sleeping bag - looks like he'll need it. DD are going to watch *Fame Academy* tomorrow. Can't wait - anyone know who's in?
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning everyone!
Boy am I glad I at least tidied downstairs a little yesterday!
I'm afraid I didn't get chance to read the daily yesterday - one thing quickly rolled into another yesterday, and I didn't even get into bed until gone midnight. Not my fault - a bad influence from OS came to stay. Ok, a good influence on you guys (esp flylady thread followers) but a very bad influence on me last night
Hope you all have a good day and that your earache clears quickly Kyle,
Love

Morning all!
We're going to exchange today, so they say, at last, and move next Friday, but I refuse to either get excited or start packing till they confirm it's happening - it's been a week now they've been saying we'll exchange! However, everything is in place and it's just been a case of getting hold of our buyer during working hours, as she's a nurse and works funny shifts. I assume she works at the local hospital, which is funny as oh used to work there - maybe he's seen her...
I made biscuits yesterday & they didn't work for some reason, but it seemed appropriate as I was distracted waiting for the 'exchange call' and probably put some wrong quantities in. Oh well!
Today I'm going to play with Isaac (as we might have to farm him out to Grandma for the weekend) - we've not had much time with the poor little thing recently and he does so enjoy us playing with him. Then once he's sleeping I will probably pace and bite my nails for a while...I don't seem to be able to do anything else! And if I hear? Then the packing will start again!
Have been invited out tonight but dunno if we'll go, it's for a friends birthday at the 'over 30s' night at a local gay bar but until something has happened one way or another I don't really feel like going out. We're supposed to be going out on Wednesday night to the pub that's within walking distance of the new house, I only really arranged it because we we supposed to be there by then, but I think that if we can, we probably should go anyway as we've got other people coming down to see us there. Saturday night M-I-L has invited the three of us over as her mum is down and we've not seen her for a couple of months - and Isaac's changing so quickly. (He's currently telling me 'Isaac's finding more carrots, mummy' - guess he's preparing for our new allotment too!).
So pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssseeeeeeeeee keep your fingers crossed for us that we exchange today, else I may have to go on some kind of rampage...to the street where my estate agents and solicitors are both based........
Hope everyone else is happy it's Friday and has a good day.0
