OK we've made some tweaks which i hope will improve it
1. It now has post count in bold separately as this is most important
2. It now only shows who has said thank you if you want it, so it doesn't disturb the look of threads and it is now less obtrusive
3. There's now an announcement telling people to use it - and as tomorrow is tip day many people should see it. This should mean many less 'thank you posts' and things running more smoothly

I'd just written out a reply on the other thread and you locked it before I could send it"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

those tweaks are most definitely an improvement. It looks like it could be workable without being obtrusive now - which is, after all, some of what it was hoping to achieve0

That does look a lot better. I'm especially glad you've managed to make the box surrounding the thankyous the same thickness as the boxes around posts etc., makes a big difference visually.
If only you could make the text in the thankyou box regular weight (not bold) 'twould be even better
And also...does the postcount need to be bold? I thought one of the points of the thankyou thing was to place a bit less significance on the post count?
ok I'll stop nitpicking now

Good points S100
Both the thank yous and postcount are deliberately bold
The thanks yous because, we want people to see it, it's a useful way (i hope) to see which posts in a thread are going to be good to read, so it needs to jump out a little.
As for bolding postcount, this is deliberate as thank you's are new, and newbies won't realise that, if (or when) thank yous become more used then we'll take the bolding off to change the emphasisMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Very nice tweak. 10/10 for the team. I can really see this feature making a big improvement to some of the boards.
Nice one!How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

being one of the ones who originally didnt like the set up i have to say now the tweaks have been made seems a lot better, never doubted the idea of it just the original set up.
only one concern for me is the count displays, this to me has a few bad points,
it may come across to some people as a competetive thing rather than a way of appreciation, which can make it open to abuse and not show true meanings, example was yesterday (i know it was a new feature but) people was thanking each other for anything, if there wasnt the count there would be no need for this and may get used more for what it should be, a thank you for a HELPFUL post,
people may feel they have to say MORE thank you's as its visable what they have done,
different threads help people in different ways, ie the a post in the freebies may help a lot of people yet a serious reply in debt free may help some body HUGELY, yet the count could read as one members posts looking more helpful than the other.
sorry for coming across negative and knocking the hack, i know you have put some good work into it0 -

Any chance of a similar one for "I agree"?
Signed.. TroublemakerI haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Actually I did think of I agree rather than thanks - but i think it sort of works in a similar way.
As for the 'post count' worry. The truth is its a bit of fun, if someone gets lots of thanks - great - whats the problem. Even if its because of finding a nice freebie rather than fantastic debt help to someone in real trouble.
On one hand this adds a bit of fun - and lets people know they're appreciated. Yet far more importantly it should make threads easier to read as a lot less 'thank you' replies should now happen. That's my prime reason. If people do 'overclick thrnak you' or thank you to their friends to increase the number - well its not a big deal.
More people will play fair than mess it up - so it should work.
Glad you like the tweaks - i agree it makes it look a lot better.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
