Shopneo - Problem Encountered

I apologise in advance for the non relevance to this forum and assume this will be the wrong place to post this but

Me and colleague at work both ordered off this site on 2 seperate days, everything went through fine and the goods were received successfully...then this happened

His bank called him 3 days later to say that someone had tried to debit 3 payments totaling over £800 from his credit card to a company called 32Red.Com, some gambling site,

I then got a call from my credit card company saying someone else had also tried to debit 3 payment totalling over £1000 to the same gambling site from my card

I can categorically say that we have both not used out credit cards on any other site to purchase anything else recently

I spoke to some lady at Shopneo who told me there is nothing wrong with they site and she can vouch that all her staff are honest and trustworthy

I am not accusing them but the coincidence that this has happened to both of us on 2 seperate days after we have used this site is VERY ALARMING

Anyone offer and advice on course of action or has someone else had this happen to them

I've informed the shop that they MAY have a problem.

My card was used to pay Aquapay (the payment people for 32red.com, for 2 lots of $250 a couple of days after ordering some disks from shopneo). An attempt to get another £110 odd quid failed as the payments were stopped. (EDIT - these payments were to brandycasino.com, which gets marked up as 18003087817 initially on the mastercard system END EDIT)

I reported it to my credit card company, who cancelled the card, and are now looking into the fraud. Fortunately, I'm covered from the lose.

Check your credit cards now for unauthorised payments to either aquapay (EDIT - brandycasino.com or 18003087817 END EDIT) or 32red.com

If you've hit the same problem then post it here. I'm aware that shopneo will be reading this, and will be looking into this coincidence.

Having used this company (Neo) since its inception without a problem I felt I should jump in and suggest you run a virus/spyware check. I appreciate that you are trying to help others here but are you sure you are secure?

With over 20 years working in the IT world...... I run up-to-date anti-spyware software, anti-virus software, anti-keylogger software and a couple of firewalls. I beleive my system is clean.

Think its quite an incredible claim to vouch for your staffs honestly.Its a very brave (or foolish )company spokesperson that does that.

The payments to brandycasino were stopped in time due to the fact I spoke to my credit card company on the saturday with regards to another matter. They asked me about previous uses of the cards (as questions to validate who I was) and I immediately picked up the fact something was wrong. The transactions were immediately stopped.

If someone would like to check on my IP address, then tell lostsomewhere that he is mistaken I would be very gratefull. After which he may wish to edit his post and apologise to me.

I am NOT going to be drawn into an argument over this. I offered some advice to check your credit card payments, that was it.

Argue amongst yourselves if you wish.

Let's not argue folks, it's perfectly OK for someone to post advice about a potential hazard and he DID inform NEO first. Keep it friendly! :cool:

OP, Shopneo's owner is Paul Owen & is a MSE member, called oddly enough PaulOwen. I would PM or email him & ask him to investigate.

He (or another director) is due to give me a call later as he was out when I phoned. This isn't a knock at shopneo, as the service was good. However, it was a suggestion that others check there statements.

as an IT proffessional you should be aware that running more than one firewall on any system isn't reccomended and can be problematic.
