Flylady Thread for Monday 12th February

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, ironing, making beds, hoovering high traffic areas


Nighttime routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish

Monday - Kitchen and Bathroom/Toilet

1. Wipe down all worktops thoroughly, clean inside of microwave and fridge and wipe down all containers and cookware kept on worktops.

2. Wipe down cupboard doors and wipe down front of cooker, WM, DW, fridge and freezer.

3. Clean top of cooker, grill, burners and pan rests. If possible move cooker and clean floor underneath.

4. Clean kitchen bin and clean floor.

Bathroom
1. Clean bath, sink and toilet. (especially under the seat and round the back of the toilet, and around the seat hinges.
2. Wipe down tiles and clean mirrors.
3. Clean Floors and put any bath mats in the WM.
4. Wash out any container you use to store your toothbrushes in and any soap dishes.

Daily and nightime routines.

Tuesday
Living room - Dust, Hoover, Tidy, declutter. Don't forget to swish away cobwebs, hoover under sofas and check down the side of cushions for loose change (which goes immediately into the PMS fund), wipe down the front of the TV (this is the best use for tumble dryer sheets LOL).
Hallway - Hoover, dust and clean skirting boards.
Tidy understairs cupboard
Hoover stairs and clean skirting boards up the stairs.

Wednesday
Dining room/Spare Room/Study/Home office
1. Hoover dining room
2. Dust dining room and polish table, dust any other furniture and nicknacks in the room.
3. Wipe down skirting boards.
4. Put tablecloth in wash and replace with a clean one.

Spare room
1. Hoover floor
2. Dust thoroughly, including removal of cobwebs.
3. Wipe down skirting boards.

Study/ Home Office
1. Hoover floor, dust, tidy desk and dust computer with a microfibre cloth, especially the keyboard.

Remember dailies and nightime routines.

Thursday

Hoover master bedroom, dust, change bedding, tidy room.

Friday
Today is the childrens rooms or catch up day for those who don't have children
1. Tidy room and clear away stray toys and clothes.
2. Strip beds and hoover mattresses
3. Dust furniture, windowsills and skirting boards
4. Hoover floor.
5. remove any cobwebs.
6. Remake beds, clean sticky marks off light switches.

Hoover heavy traffic areas all through the house.
Stick uniforms in the wash
Wash out lunchboxes.

Dailies and nightime routines.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

  • Morning all - this is the first time i have actually posted my list so am scared won't do it (well not called scaredy cat for nothing :D )
    DD1 is at preschool today and dd2 has tumble tots so busy morning - also dd2 is definitely not herself today or if she is it is worrying - she has already thrown lots of breakfast around and keeps shouting NO at me!!! ho hum!

    but i am v excited at doing the kitchen today as it needs it - doing essay all weekend meant it is a bit of a tip but am hoping to do fast fly when she has nap and dd1 will do play doh up to table after preschool. It is not so bad it will take days!!

    see you all later - i am not coming back til i have done the kitchen :eek:

    off to a good start already. We are all up and fed. DH has:
    • measured out powder for baby milk into tubs
    • took boots vouchers to buy more baby milk today
    • made his pack up
    • put recycling in garage
    • put box from high chair in garage
    • washed up all breakfast things
    • made me a cuppa
    • brought in stuff from TD
    • fed cats
    I have:
    • sterilised bottles and put water in ready
    • folded the stuff from the TD
    • found out vouchers for DH to take
    • got sausages out of freezer for tea, after checking the meal plan.
    I know my DH is super, and helps tremendously with keeping the house in order. ;)

    My extras for today:
    • pick up nappies from my mums house sister is in so this is possible
    • [STRIKE]change cot bedding [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]change our bedding[/STRIKE] bed stripped and bedding now going through WM
    • post DVD rental back

    Susieb either bribe them to help you or say sod the housework for a week! Not very flylady I know but I reckon they are only small for such a short time we should treasure them.

    I have only been doing this for a couple (might be 3 already) of weeks and whilst I would not claim this house is anywhere near shipshape orhouse shape for that matter :rolleyes: it is a lot better than it was.
