Daily Thread for Weds 27th December

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 27th December ,2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

 Good Morning All - Hope we are well
Its been a while since I started the daily thread. :)

Ive been to bed but not slept for my head & ear ache. The infection - not sure if its getting better or worse, but Im constantly getting ringing noises (like the ones you get when you come out of a noisy club) or crunching sounds - like you get when walking in the snow. Its leaking like mad and its a horrible yucky black colour. (sorry if your'e eating breakfast when reading this) When I lay on that ear, it pop's, and it keeps popping to the extent that it wakes me up. Its so annoying now. So had to come down stairs and take more pain killers.

Myself & OH watched that "after thomas" drama last night, very good, OH cried. I knew he would. He as an autistic son, so it brought back memories. He doesn't see his son, not thru his choice, the ex is a bit of a MOO! He's back at work today, Im not back now til thurs. So he's got the luxury of using my car today instead of walking.

Plans for today - will try and attempt some sleep in a bit, then it'll be more washing, general tidy and get the kids to help take their Xmas presents upstairs and put away. Hope to get into to town after OH finishes work and pay the usual monthly bills.

If I have time, I hope to sort through the wardrobes/drawers and whats worth selling, I will attempt to get them ready and list on ebay sometime in the New Year.

I also need to go through my airing cupboard, update any bedding (mainly sheets Im short of for the kids beds) and get rid of the older bedding etc.
New year approaching - New me, continue and put more effort into OS.

OH's mum did go to DFS and brought a new suite. She gets it in 10weeks time, which means I get to have her old suite. Its a lovely lemon leather colour, very big n comfy, better than the one my OH got, we've not had it long, but it was a bargain at the time, but so uncomfortable.

Hope you've had luck with finding Cookies grannybroon. It seems strange calling you grannybroon - my Nanna's maiden name was Boon, and her mum was known to us all as "grannyboon". She was a Hitler in those days - Im sure your'e the total opposite. :A

Anyway - Ive rambled on long enough now. Going to make myself a hot milky drink and try and settle down.

Have a good day everybody
Take care & Love as usual

    Morning Crazychik

Sorry to hear how bad your ear has been - it does sound very troublesome, hopefully it has gone past the worst and will start to go back to normal now.

I've just come back from my friend's house - we had a Christmas dinner with the full works of turkey and stuffing and everything else. I wasn't expecting it at all, but it was really yummy. I don't think I should eat anything for another fortnight or so.

I had a call from w*r* on Saturday, and they have told me that my contract has been extended. At the time I was dumbstruck to hear from them and so didn't ask any questions. I have to go in as normal today, and will find out then how long my contract has been extended for and how many hours I've been given. I had asked for an extension, but also said that I'd be happy with less hours than the 39. Fingers crossed it's something like 8.30 am until 3.00 pm as that would be ideal. To be honest I never want to set foot in another office ever again in my whole entire life and am consequently very grateful for this job until I get my head sorted.

I gave my mother a breadmaker for Christmas - she handed it straight back to me as she didn't think she'd ever use it. I tried hard to make her consider using it, but no, she didn't want it. I've kept it for myself of course - it's one of the Morphy Richards ones. Once I've done a bit of shopping for yeast etc I'll get it up and running. Oh and of course I now have to go shopping for a replacement present for my mother...grrr!!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.

Boxing day, I managed to do my walrus impression again. I think I have eaten far too much over the past few days. I am looking forward to some plain soup and a roll today.
Back to work in an hour, I think that will make a nice change as well. I have had 5 days off, just wallowing about the house and shops. I need a change of scenery.

Carzychik-Hope your ear gets better-sounds painful.

Slept better last night and headache is slowly easing.

WM will be put on in a minute and the DW after breakfast. Toilet is cleaned and house generally clean and tidy.

DD is going out for lunch (pizzahut) with one of her old mates from primary. Its the first time we are allowing this, but OH will be hoovering in the background-he will also go in and settle them down at a table or they wont get served. Im abit nervous but know OH will be on tap. He's has said that he will go to the library and meet them in 45 minutes but its gonna be more like looking around the shops:rolleyes: Her friend is coming back for a while then will be dropped off later.

Im resting up today again as Im still not feeling good. GP is coming out at 8'ish to give me some stronger painkiller as I am just about able to move ATM. The pain is terrible and doesnt matter what position Im in...it hurts!...I need shooting!

    Breakie: Toast & Jam
Lunch: Baked Spud, Ham and salad
    Dinner: Shepards Pie & Veg

    Hugs to all.

(((Hugs))) to Crazychik and PP, pain is a terrible thing.

I'm up to have a coffee then heading back to bed for a good slob, yesterday was so busy I didn't get to sit down at all, but it was an absolutely wonderful day and I really enjoyed it so am feeling quietly content with it all. In my family it is a tradition to have a houseful on boxing day and this was the first time I've been able to do it for years.

Last guest heads home later today then I'm heading into the office to sort my desk ready for what is shaping up to be a really busy January.

Must pop the BM on though, had a great success with some butter making last night. What a difference it makes if the cream is properly warm before you start. This batch was ready almost as soon as I'd started :D Time I started to tackle jams and marmalades I think

Have a lovely day everyone :A
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Sat here with tea and toast before DD takes over computer.
Went to visit elderly relatives yesterday, uncle will be 91 soon and is looking frailer than he was in October.

On the way home stopped off in Redcar and had fish and chips in the car overlooking the sea! Very posh!!! But enjoyable.:j

Hugs to all especially Pennypincher and I hope her GP can do something to help the pain.

May make sausage and mash tonight as i have just found out my DDs have now decided that they like it - even although at least one of them does not like sausages lol!!!

Might try making cheese and garlic bread later as DD (at uni) was quite envious that she missed it when I last made it.

Had the least stressful time ever over the last few days and cannot think what made the difference.

Even yesterday when I realised I needed hampers for three realatives and had not wrapped boxes - or even got boxes- or goodies - usually a start of huge headache and panic - I looked out a couple of Santa sacks that I got from Poundland a few years ago, went to the only shop open here , bought stuff they would like and use and filled the sacks.

Must be your influence here on old style!!!
