Am I still first, or have lots of us started today's daily?

Off to fetch the sticky.............

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Back again! How is everyone this morning? Great excitement in the house of Penguin; Mr Penguin had a job interview yesterday, and now has a promotion, starting 1 March :j  :T :A . It's a bit more money, and a company car allowance. Perfect timing as my car is on its last legs. The job isn't much different to what he's doing now (same company, same location) but recognises the extra work he's been doing for some years.

We're off to a friend's house for supper, with another couple and their grandson, who went to priamry school with my 2, but has now moved to the next county. So they'll be off together. I have a bottle of bubbly chilling to take with us.

Small penguins are still in bed. They're both shattered, so I decreed no screen time before 9am, but I suspect that DS has his gameboy under the duvet

Off to collect a Freecycled slow cooker later today, so I will no longer feel so left out on this thread ;):D  Going to pop to the shops to get a few last groceries. Farmaround are delivering fruit and veg later today.

I received a parcel from Amazon yesterday, which was left in my shed. When I picked it up, the parcel was opened, and a CD (for me luckily :D ) was missing. I contacted the courier who don't have it, so e-mailed Amazon. They've just replied saying they will send me a book (on my list, but not what's missing  ) and that I then have to return the item that was sent in error  Suppose they're busy at this time. Anyone else had dealings returning to Amazon? I also have a faulty camera to return.

Making mince pies to feed the freezer today, and finishing tidying, before the tree and turkey arrive tomorrow.

Have a graet day, Penny. x

  • Good morning all :xmassmile

Well, it’s another crisp, frosty morning in Country Antrim.

My mother and I finished all of the shopping yesterday. We had to call at the sorting office to collect a Christmas card that had been posted without a stamp. They had left my mother a note saying there would be a handling charge of £1.23. However I managed to talk our way out of that :D

Today I have to finish a job before I leave so that I can enjoy the last day in work tomorrow.

    Have a good day everyone

Morning to Pen pen tru mrs mix and furry pig

Blimey this is amazing me only the 4th (lol bet by the time ive posted there will be another 42 posts)

Waiting in for a couple of deliveries today - had a bit of a spend in the next sales yesterday courtesy of some lovely mse peeps who posted the sale code a whole day early - I always wondered why there was nothing left on the first official day of the sale:rolleyes: Anyway the stuff in the catalogue was up to 70% off so I had a bit of a wild time:o

As well as my next stuff and even more exciting is that I am getting my new suite today - chocolate leather (well brown really but chocolate sounds posher!!) My old suite is on freecycle so im hoping to get a taker in the next day or so or its down to the tip.

Apart from that I need to finish off in the office (so much for doing all that yesterday:rolleyes: ) and then off to town to pick up a final couple of pressys (that could stretch to tomorrow:D )

anyway hope you are all keeping wrapped up in this freezing weather and that you have a good day

    Nels xx
  • Morning Guys!

I hate it when I cant get on here:mad: Had a terrible night with some horrible dreams and was trying to get on here at 4am:eek:   ....nevermind!

Have my last appointment till next Thursday today and will be happy of the break. I am treating myself to my fav baguette on way home, then we are staying in and snuggling on sofas:D

WM will be put on in a minute. OH has emptied DW and the loo has been cleaned. House generally clean and tidy. SIL popped in quick last night to drop ironing off and pick up new stuff, so was able to give her 2 bags of stuff I was gonna bin from bathroom cupboard:eek:   ...its out the way now anyway. Today, just need to hang clothes on airer and maybe have a look at some of my clothes I havent worn for ages and sort them out for Ebay or Bootsale:confused:

Just made my last adjustment to the shopping coming tomorrow from Asda and have spent the grand sum of £90 after using voucher and using special offers. This also includes 2 big bottles of Baileys and Gordons Gin;)

OH & DD are going to make some mince pies later with leftover puff pastry...so that should be interesting! Just about to put the gammon joint in the SC as we didnt have yesterday in the end as it was a mad rush to get out and me being such a div....forgot:rolleyes:

Anyway, Im off to have a shower and get SC on:D ...beofre I forget again!

    Breakie: Ham/Cheese Toastie
    Lunch:Coronation Chicken and salad baguette
    Dinner:Gammon, mash & veg
