Just been reading E Halletts make money from notning challenge which is truely fab but for my poor dyslexic brain a bit too much to juggle in terms of calculations (bit like matched betting!). Having said that I was getting really enthused while reading so wondered if anyone would like to join in a "make money from anything" challenge? Rules would be simple;
(1) Its got to be legal! (2) You can sell any existing stuff that you have but if you make stuff (ie food, craft things etc) any outlay is dedcuted from profit and same with ebay etc that any fees/postage also deducted (3) You can use stuff like quidco/pigsback etc profits but again any outlay is deducted & only "pure profit" is counted....cant think of anything else right now but sure things will crop up...
Suggest starting now & ending at end Jan to get us through Christmas & keep us on track over the festivities!
Anyone up for it or am I on my tod?!! Also could anyone help with a spreadsheet? I'm rubbish at them!

Could I join in too please?
I have a £500 vets bill :eek: to find funds for (well I have paid it, but the money has been taken out of my 'early repayment' fund for my loan so I want to replace it asap!!).
I don't have much lying about to sell on ebay so it will definately be a challenge but it will focus the mind and that's what I need!!

:T Im in Fishface - I love the money from nothing challenge but didnt want to feel pressurised getting such a high amount. So I started my own - see my sig ' vw savings ' I would love to have a vw campervan ( sad I know ) so I have decided to save up for one out of money that I would not have normally had IYKWIM. I have started by opening a savings account and the first credit was for bingo winnings from a free £5 offer in the News of the World. I have ten pounds coming to me from the FHM free bet too. I have just sold a free mobile on ebay so after costs that should be another £30. I have a couple of old mobiles to go back to envirophone which should make another £35 and another one to list on ebay this weekend - bought for £20 worth £80 ( where do these mobiles come from - I think they are reproducing ) I have finally worked out how to do matched betting so will be starting that soon. I also plan to ebay loads of stuff from my house. I have loads of books that have been given to me to go onto Amazon and Green Metropolis. Im also clicking like mad for piggy points and trying to get any offers that I can on Quidco - which reminds me I have £30 to come less £10 for a bingo sign up bonus. Im going to carry on my saving till April and fingers crossed will have enough for my own vw to get out and about in next summer
So good luck Fishface and anybody else that wants to join in. Sorry I cant help with the spreadsheet though - Im useless too:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Hi
I'd love to join this challenge too. I couldn't find anything to start me on the money from nothing challenge so this sounds a bit easier! and it will be the kick up the bum i need to get started.
Is there a target amount that we have to try to get to?

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I've been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks reading all the interesting posts and was especially interested in the money for nothing challenge but like others was having difficulty starting off. Although I did sell something to my poor reluctant daughter for a pound! Thats has far as I got.
I'd like to join this challenge please and am raring to go! Its just the kick up the bum I need to get me some savings behind me. My 13 year old son went to live with his dad in Florida this summer and I really want to go over there next Easter so I have good reason to work real hard on this challenge. I'm going to work hard on understanding matched betting too and see where that takes me.

Hi all! Great that its not just me! Good way to start is amazon, green metropolis, ebay, quidco, pigsback ...also doing car boots (although the weather isnt great!), I wondered about making stuff for Christmas...no specific goal in mind money wise from my point of view - just needed a kick up teh bum!! Alas all the money from me will prob go towards debt & poss a bit for gardening tools for my new allotment! VW sounds good as do trips abroad! Hopefully someone v. organised & spreadsheet savvy will come along soon & "assist"!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
