I used to make this and used one third of the bottle of p r i c k e d over sloes, one third of the bottle sugar and the rest topped up with gin. Keep turning it every day till the sugar is dissolved and keep at least 3 months. Wonderful it is for xmas and new year

Exactly how I do it too! DelishWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Lots of sloes on the trees near us, has anyone got a recipe for sloe gin please?0
-
I just use 1Lb of sloes and 1Lb of sugar with 1 litre of gin. Peirce the sloes to the stone and then put them in an air tight jar with the sugar and gin. Leave this for about three months, give it a good shake up every couple of weeks or so, Strain it through some muslin cloth and back into the bottle and its done0

Cut some of the sloes in half to check for bugs. Unless the tree has been cared for, a lot of the sloes will contain grubs.0
