Hi,
The father was always thought as being more capable and worthy of bringing up a child on his own as opposed to a woman. The single mother image of the woman was yet to be formed. But as always, things never remain constant for ever. By the 1920s, the balance had shifted in favor of the woman, who was now believed to be a much better nurturer of her children as compared to the father who would be busy earning the livelihood. By now, the fathers were spending more and more time outside the household, working. This has a different effect as well. Soon the fathers began to protest against this maternal bias and believed that they were being unnecessarily being excluded from the lives of their own children, through no fault of their own.0
