DVB-T Digital USB TV CARD Problems!!

Options
Hey -

I've been trying to get TV on my Alienware laptop since I bought it 2 months ago, it is all that's missing! Unfortunately the TV Card that comes with my laptop has to be connected to a TV to actually work... :(

So I bought myself a cheapy digital usb dvb-t a couple of months back, connected it up, NO signal, even though my house in a freeview area and freeview boxes work fine, I've tried the laptop in other places but still 0 signal.

Yesterday in another attempt I bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200018588462&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1

It arrived this morning, and looked better than the old one, well it looked more expensive (it was), I followed the instructions, and again NO signal at all and NO channels found. and I am also constantly getting this error:
Media Center Receiver Service has encountered a problem and needs to close

I click Send Report, but it keep scoming back

Please help me fix the error and get my tv stick working!!!

Thanks in advance,

Ashok

ok that is likely to be your problem. the aerials that come with them are rubbish :(

I have the freecom stick and with the supplied aerial i get nothing but hooking it up to my external one i get everything.

if you can't hook it up to an external aerial you could try getting an indoor one with a booster atteched.

before you buy anything plug the aerial from your telly into your freeview stick just to make sure it does work and finds channels.

should just either plug into the same hole the that the aerial that came with the stick or there should be an adapter with it.

you have the aerial that came with the freeview stick and the freeview stick itself. On the end of the aerial that came with the freeview stick there will probably be a removable adapter that you can plug onto the end of your tv coax lead and plug it into the freeview stick.

Yes, I can do that, but how the TV would pick up the channels... I wouldn't think so seeing as it would be connected to a USB!
