Mon - Sausage and bean casserole
    Tues - Spanish rice
    Wed - Baked potatoes
    Thurs - Chilli
    Fri - Pasta

Not going to plan for the weekends at the moment until I see how my family react to the weekly planning.

I've gone through my freezer and am going to try really hard at sticking to this. I'll start from tomorrow as what I previously had listed has changed.

One of my 'resolutions' is to try a new recipe each week, so it'll either be something i've never tried before, or something i've tried, but never made.

Friday - going to my dad's for a roast for lunch. If i'm still hungry (doubtful) i'll have some cheese and crackers.

Saturday - lasagne with garlic bread (might make some garlic and basil sticks I have a recipe for)

Sunday - leftover lasagne (or chilli depending on how much is left when I make the lasagne!)

Monday - chicken stirfry with noodles

Tuesday - broccoli and potato bake (bit random, but both will need using)

Wednesday - falafel (burgers) in pittas with salad - new for me, never tried or made them!

Thursday - vegetable stirfry with noodles

Friday - chicken kiev with polenta chips and salad

Saturday - macaroni cheese with bacon and tomatoes

Sunday - sausage, [STRIKE]mash and onion gravy[/STRIKE] potato wedges and broccoli (don't fancy mash)

I still have some spinach in the fridge and a lonely carrot, so will make up some soup at the weekend and take it for lunch as i'm back to work on Monday :(

    Happy New Year everyone! :)

    Happy new year everyone :D

New year, new menu, january has to be pretty frugal as spent a fortune in the last couple of months of 2009. Luckily I have a couple of freezers fit to burst, so hopefully only really need to buy some veg and milk this month. I get a veg box, so bought veg really only includes spuds and onions (I find I don't get enough of those in the veg box)

Mo-Lamb and potato curry (from freezer) with a cauliflower side dish (OH will make this as its his day off) and rice
Tu-Chilli, baked spud cheese and sour cream
We-Sausages, onion gravy, mash and sprouts.
Th-Tuna, pasta and sweetcorn bake, with mozarella maybe
Fr-roasted chicken thighs with roast swede, onions and spuds, gravy.
    Sa-away
Su-Pork chops with roast carrots and parnsips, spuds and a sage gravy if we get home at a reasonable hour

Happy New Year everyone! May 2010 be fruitful and happy for us all. Thank you for posting this week's thread - I hadn't quite finished working out my mealplan, but have been inspired to finish it quickly first thing. Here's mine for next week:

Mon: Leftover Chilli & Pasta Bake
    Tues: At Mum's
    Weds: Omelette
    Thurs: Chicken curry & rice
Fri: Toad in the hole & beans
    Sat: Jambalaya
Sun: Roast beef with all the trimmings.

Right now I can see all the extra meals I can make for the following week, which is nice. I love it when inspiration strikes! Lunches will be sandwiches as we're back at work next week, and breakfasts will be cereal. We'll be eating leftover cakes & biscuits from Christmas until those are gone, which means I won't have to bake for a little while yet. :) Have a good week, everyone, take care and stay safe. :)

I really need to sort my food budget out this year so will be posting weekly on this thread ;). next week looks like this..

Mon chicken pie with mash (roasties for the ones that don't like mash)
    Tues pizza and wedges
    weds spag boll
    Thurs sausage casserole
    Fri curry and rice

I usually buy the pizza but i will use my bread maker to make some dough and make homemade pizzas :D (bread maker has until next week lived on top of the cupboard  i WILL start using it to try and save some money :D). If i stick to this plan i will not need to buy and groceries this week apart from milk :D wish me luck.
I don't plan for weekends as the kids spend all day sat and 2 Sundays out of the month with their dad.x
  • Happy New Year everyone!

We are snowed in just now so will be using up left overs and things from the freezer. Back to proper meal planning when the weather improves. Over the next 7 days, in no particular order, we will be having -

    Shepherdess pie

    Frankfurter slice

    Beef stew and dumplings

HM meatballs and tomatoe sauce with pasta from the Morrisons pasta mountain

    Chicken stir fry

    Scampi

    Left over roast pork

All served with potatoes, rice or noodles and carrots and various green veg.

Puddings and snacks will be cheese, fruit and left over Christmas things.
