Fell off the wagon

Options
Someone please help me.

I fell off the wagon yesterday and blew bearly 2k on a wretched casino online. Now i'm in deep :(

I was so happy at getting my charges back, then got dumped and it all went pear shaped. No excuse i know but i did it. feel like crap and need some help. fast!

I now have a £2600 overdraft and i'm only allowed £2k. I cant get the money from anywhere else at the moment as my cards are maxed from paying car insurance and tax last month. I have a personal loan which i may be able to increase but i cant afford the payments if it is.....

help. please........

    Hi cantcope. :)

I'm no expert here but this is my view on it!

You need to try and work out why you decided to gamble again (I'm assuming splitting up with your partner did it). If it wasn't that then you need to try and avoid the situation that made you want to gamble again.

Get a pen and paper and write down how your feeling right now! Also try and lock the feeling away at the back of your mind so when you next get the urge to gamble you have those reminders of how !!!!!! you felt!

Are you going to GA meetings or anything?

Also get in touch with all the companies you have accounts with and tell them you have a problem. They will block your accounts so you can't use them.

There is also something you can download which blocks all forms of gambling on websites and such. I'll try and find it for you and when you install it just make up a random password or something that you won't remember so you won't be able to disable it.

    Good luck mate. :)

no i didnt have it earmarked for anything else other than living next month. but i cant stand the nasty phonecalls that are gonna come next week saying i need to clear the £600 over my o.d.

i get paid next friday and now i wont have enough to pay all my bills :(

it was definitely splitting up with o/h that did it. I havent gambled since the beginning of the year. I even called them up to re-open my account last night :(

    Here's that blocker mate.

    http://www.gamblock.com/

Install it now while your still feeling crap in case you decide not to!

Also have a look at this recent thread. You are not the only one!

2k in one night! You really need to do something about your problem. I know you think you wont do it again but have you thought about GA or something.

What's done is done now but you need to be 200% sure it will never happen again. Close down your accounts to every online gambling site. Think about getting a gambling site blocker installed on your pc. It can't happen again.

Have you actually recieved your bank charges back or just notification that you will get them back, I know it can take a while to actually see the money. My only other suggestion is to have a massive clear out and get yourself to a car boot tomorrow selling as much as possible to try and pay off some of that unauthorised o/d. Offer to baby sit for everybody you've ever met etc etc.

Hang on in there, you made amistake but you can get back on the wagon.

Yeah i just noticed that. About £20 for the worst version. I cant even spend £1 on my switch card at the moment.

re: Boot sale, i sold everything i possibly could on ebay when i first admitted my debt problem. Other than my body i have nothing left i could sell.

I need to get £600 before next friday otherwise i am gonna end up in a very dark place.

OK. We need to look, without panicking

If you could bang up a previous SOA , or copy onto here, we will see what needs paying, when, and how you are going to get around it.

You work full time right? What days do you work, hours, and where in the country are you based. this is upping your income time now I feel.

You say there is nothing that can be sold at a car boot, youd be surprised, all our failed stuff from ebay sold pretty much.

Have you checked all your cash pots like pigsback, or green metropolis, quidco or paypal, do you havew anything in these little webbased pots you anywhere can scrape together?
