HELP need advice, just split with partner today

Can anyone help me ascertain what money I'm going to have, as I've split with my partner today and no idea how I can afford to live.
I'm 20, with a 2yr old child, I work 14 hours a week and am a full time student doing my BA. I have just bought a house (with my partner, but all in my name) and I've no idea how I'm going to afford to live!
Does anyone know what help is available to me?!?!
Thanks!

You'll may be able to claim IS, with this you'll get full CTC and CTB.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Sorry to hear this. Has the split been quite amicable or may it get messy? Do you have family about to support you? You could always try putting your details into https://www.entitledto.co.uk or even ringing the benefit enquiry line on 0800 882200Weight Loss - 102lb0

I've no family, I moved away to live with my partner because he couldn't commute 70 miles each way a day from my home town. It isn't too messy, there was no one else involved in the breakup but we just got sick of each other and stayed together because it was easier than splitting, but I got to a point where I couldn't be miserable any longer, and can't let my little boy see his mum miserable.
I can't go income support because Im in fulltime higher education, but I wouldn't want to anyway both because I want to support myself and because I have a mortgage, which I couldn't afford to repay on I.S.
I tried calling CAB but getting hold of anyone is like trying to find a Polar bear in the desert!
If anyone knows what entitlement I might get as a lone parent in a degree course that'd be appreciated. Thanks for the link!0 -
The CAB is trialling a new out of hours advice service on a trial basis. This is available Monday to Friday, from 5.30pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 10am to 1pm. The service is available by telephone, email and online chat.
The telephone number is :0844 902 0021
Does your university have any hardship funds or grants available?
Is your ex going to help contribute? If you were living there was he paying bills or the mortgage etc?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
He isnt going to contribue to anything, once he leaves I dont expect I'll ever hear from him again unless I bump into him! I've only just bought my house (It completes in 3 weeks, so really sh* tty time to dump me!) but until this he has been paying the rent (£500pcm). He has no obligation to contribute to anything, and he isn't my sons father. My sons genetic father dumped me when I found out I was pregnant (Not having much luck am I!) I met steve when my son was 3-4 months old, dated him for 12 months and moved in with him last year.
I'll try that phoneline. I need to find out if I can get any grants as a lone parent, but I'm not sure how helpful they'll be if they know I have a house, which I guess is an asset. It hardly seems fair that my house value is rising, so essentially Im making money, but claiming for hardship!?
I get CSA off the father at £200 a month, and I get paid £450 a month for my part time job and obviously Child Ben, but this comes to less than £800 a month, the mortgage is £460 and I have to pay £100 a month car insurance and diesel etc, because I need to commute to work and uni!
I'd move, but I'm committed to the house Ive bought at least for some time. Wondering if Id be able to sell late Summer, but heard it isn't a good time to sell and should wait until spring?!?!0 -

I found a good broker! I got my mortgage on a self-certificate. But that was on the assumption we had me now ex's financial contribution. He couldn't have anything to do with the mortgage because he's virtually bankrupt, think he's filing for it at the moment although I don't care anymore.
I can just about make my repayments but Gas/elec...a life! Going to struggle, I have my uni grants, Higher Education Grant and Parents Learning Allowance at the moment and student loans which amount to about £3,500 per term, only I used up January and Aprils terms payment for my deposit on my house :-(
The thing is even if I didnt have my mortgage to pay, Id have to pay rent because I'm not entitled to Income support, therefore I'm not entitled to Housing Benefit, so the way I see it, if its coming out of my own pocket, Id rather pay £460 a month to my mortgage than £500 a month to my landlord!
An escort? Hmmm... now how would one go about that!? Are there escort jobs where you don't have to have sex with anyone, where you do genuinely just keep them company for the evening!??? lol0 -
As I understand it, even as a student, as a lone parent the rules allow her to make a claim for IS.

TINA if you're a single parent you could be better off going to college from the grants they give you. Think a loan parent can get about £8,000 a year in grants plus your loan, plus Tax Cred, etc. I wouldn't be having this problem if I hadn't spent all my grants on a house deposit!! And before anyone point it out, I know that isn't what they're given for!0
