Sharron's no buying clothes for 365 days!!!

Options
Hi there folks:hello:

Following on from a blogspot i spent a whole day reading, I am now challenging myself to not buy clothes for a whole year:eek:

Those of you may or may not know me from my 'capsule thread' i love it, however my new challenge is to make the current capsule last me a whole year without spending a new penny on clothes!!

Here are my 'Rules'

1. Not a new penny is to be spent on clothes, however i can sell my stuff and use the proceeds to buy' new to me' clothes .

2. Underwear is excluded, i only ever really spend about £50 twice a year in the marks and spencer sale.

3. Shoes, bags and accesorries are included, i have way to many of these anyway.

4. I can accept gifts of clothing, and hand me downs from my lil sis:A

5. I will look after my clothing, if i get bored with things i WILL think of a way to remodell it, after exhausting all of this it will be ebayed.

A lot of our debt came from my love of clothes, and as we have 14 months left untill we are debt free, i am eager to not run it up again. This is an attempt to reign myself in!!

Anyone else up for the challenge????????

Sharron

I know the blog you've based this on, and I hope you can do it! Are you going to start a blog and post piccies?

And will you allow gift vouchers / gift cards to be used on new clothes?

  • No floss, i really am not that technical. I tried to start one the other day but found it all very hard!! I am a complete techno-fobe!!

I'm going to post pix of my capsule and different ways to wear it, or anything else that is of interest, just not with me in the clothes lol.

I am going to allow gift cards etc to buy new clothes, however we only buy the kids in our family so only receive pressys off my mum, sis and hubs. What i am trying to avoid is spending on my switch/visa card.

The spontaneous shopping trips are out, i can only go shopping once ebay funds have hit the bank account. This will be the biggest challenge. I do enjoy browsing, and nearly always pick something up. I am also trying to buy less for my daughter, i mean how many outfits can a 6 year old wear???

Day one, today. I am going to sort through wardrobe, i have already earmarked a long cardy, suite and summer dress for ebay. I'm going to put all my bathing suites etc into my suitcase for my hols next week and pull out winter woolies. I am really bored of my summer clothes atm and this would mean a shopping trip, but i will not give in!!

    Sharron xx

I try to be Ebay neutral by only spending what is in my Paypal account ;)

Isn't that what Child Benefit is for?! :p Maybe you can follow the same principle for her clothes, using your CB?
