This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...
Hello everyone
. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

Roll up roll up. Anyone is welcome to join this challenge, we are a friendly bunch honest!
Budgeteers let me know your results and pledges and I will update the first post.
Anyway I am planning on trying to cut my weekly budget to £15 and it is starting to get quite hard! As per usual this is to include anything not budgeted elsewhere but not food shopping etc. If I can get my self sorted out for lumches everyday I should hopefully make it.

James has paid for everything so far this weekend, making my total spend £18.20 out of £20! :j :j :j
This is where things get tough though. I pledge £10 for next week and this time it isn't just to see if I can do it, I've got to stick to it. I literally can't afford more.

Hooray, time for a new thread, and desperately needed new budget:j
Well, I don't think I'll be spending anything today (only 80p left anyway) so I've managed to stick to budget by the skin of my teeth. £19.20 of my £20 spent.
Next week I'm going to increase the budget to £40 - a good chunk of which will go towards a mother's day present.
Fingers crossed for a good week for everyone.Looking forward to the future.0 -
Hello All.
Last week I was very good in Paris. Out of my budget I spent £32 on a meal, £6 on a bite on the train and £4.76 before I left. So my total spend was £42.76 way under my vague £100 estimate. (Also spent 98 of my 100 euros but that was a birthday present). Green for me please.
Back to normal this week so can you put me down for £12 please Pointypenguin? (this is excluding a birthday present I have to buy tomorrow)
Good luck everyone be 'on guard' :rotfl: with your spending.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Evening budgeteers.
I have updated the first post with results and pledges. There is lots of green to everyone seems to have done really well.
Tixy glad you had a good time in Paris and came in under budget.
babs2008 what are you planning on getting your mum for Mother's day. I think I am only sending mine a card seems a bit mean but she said she didn't want me to waste money.
ghostmadlittlemiss well done sounds like you have done well this week. I know how you feel about the budget it took me a long time to accept that what disposable income I have is tiny and less than I want to spend each week but it is what I have left so I need to just find a way to survive. I am trying to cut down my budget by 5 pounds each week to get it low so the rest can be used on fun things at the weekend.
No sign of F_F. Are you about F_F?
