Morning All!
Thought I'd start the thread today so we can all have a think over the weekend what's on the menu - especially with it being half term
This week we're having:
Monday - Sausage Casserole with lots of extra veg in & crusty bread
Tuesday - Chilli & Rice (Ditto extra veg!)
Wednesday - Minestrone Soup & Naan followed by jam roly poly & custard
Thursday - Lasagne, Garlic Bread & Salad
Friday - Macaroni Cheese with leeks & bacon
Saturday - Baked Potatoes with either tuna/chilli/beans/cheese or any combination of
Sunday - Braising Steak, roast potatoes, yorkshire puds, carrots, brocolli, green beans & gravy
Breakfasts: Cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit or porridge.
Lunches: Soup, sandwiches, things on toast.
Snacks (Mainly for the kids
) Toast, fruit, yoghurts, cheese & crackers, veg sticks, veg dips, 1 pack of crisps a day ONLY! I'll also bake twinks, muffins & a fruit loaf for the tin.
Everything is homemade & usually cooked on the day. The remaining chilli will be frozen afterwards for baked potatoe topping.
Happy cooking everyone!

Wow this thread is getting earlier again. Not complaining though! Your meal plan sounds great Sunnygirl.

Sat 14th Out (not for Valentines Meal though, a big Church Meal!), so Mac cheese planned for dinner will be lunch
Sun 15th [strike]LO Pork with roast tatties, LO turnip, beetroot and gravy [/strike] Chippy tea, pork has been frozen and LO veg will be used for cottage pie topping on Mon!

Coming weeks plan:
Mon 16th Cottage pie (stk mince, carrot, onion, peas with a potato, cheese and turnip mash topping)
Tue 17th Chicken Kiev with rice and sweetcorn
Wed 18th Veggie Haggis, Winter Wedges and [strike]cabbage[/strike] turnip with gravy

Thanks OrkneyStar! It's doing me the power of good getting it all sorted. The kids always look at whats on offer & decide which night they're not going to eat at home if they don't like it. I let them choose one evening a week that they can eat out - sounds mean but with 3 of them being teens I like them to 'touch base' so we can all catch up & I also know what they're up to LOL!! I make a point that we all sit down together so meal time is a good time for family chats. They'll prob let their kids eat on the hoof after being brought up with me!!0

Right, not a final plan, but here goes. Days not sorted for each. Everything in except some dairy and fruit.
1.Lentil & chick pea curry
2.At mum's (DH to his mum's!)
3.At mum's (DH Egg, beans and toast or similar)
4.Ham hock, potato wedges and veg
5.Pea and Ham Soup and sandwiches
6.Quiche
7.Pork in mustard sauce[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"[/SIZE]
