Onetel Customers to be transferred to TalkTalk call plans

Hello,

Just spoken with a member of TalkTalk's Cancellations team, I tried to get free evening and weekend calls out of them when I mentioned Just Dial Saver but they refused it saying that Just Dial is internet-only customer services.

Anyway, I mentioned that they were part of Onetel and she said that Onetel customers were being transferred over to TalkTalk by next month but had the option of leaving to go elsewhere. I was also told that no offers would be upheld, e.g. the free Leisure UK for a year or 99p per month. All that would go and they would have to transfer to TalkTalk plans.

Just in case you didn't already know! ;) Make plans to move to a more competitive company, if you can find one which doesn't belong to TalkTalk :( (Are there any apart from Toucan?)

Yes and of course TT put up their line rental prices tomorrow! See :http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=143452

BT line rental.Peak Calls with 1899.E&W Calls Free with Primus Saver 2. Mobile Calls with 18185 still looks the best bet to me.

Hi Just contacted Onetel, I asked them about the change over. they have advised that the Onetel customers will still benefit with all the great offers they have and this will not change.

TT have already withdrawn the Onetel 99p a month free calls e&w to 01/02 numbers offer .Put it up to 3.99p.
They have also withdrawn the Just Dial Saver free e&w 01/02 calls offer.
Plus they have upped the price of ex-tele2 customers inclusive packages.

What great offers were they referring to ?

There's a 2-letter acronym which must apply here. Now let me think.
    GB, no.
    UK, no.
    OK, no.
    BT, no.
    BS, that's the one!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • I haven't been with Onetel for my calls for well over a year but now their voice message service thingy kicks in instead of the BT one icon8.gif

I guess its because I was/am still a customer but when I went into the website to check my account it is down for the time being.

It's working for me (via IE6).

We're with OneTel. I've been expecting a letter now for weeks. As pointed out earlier, Tele2 and JDS are no longer available which hasn't come as a surprise. Especially JDS as it was obvious that TT would not allow that tariff to continue when they themselves charge so much for the equivalent.

Due to the volume of calls I think we'll be going on an inclusive package but I've only been able to find Euphony for £7.25p/month but limited to 60mins per call before it becomes chargable, or alternatively, Tiscali for £7.99 but not sure if that's limited. Plus, tiscali have a bad cust serv from what I've read.

The worst problem is we still have about £20 in credit with OneTel and something tells me this wont be transferred over to TT. If this is true then we'll probably have to stop using Call18866/1899 and use OneTel for daytime calls until credit has run down.

If you need to use up credit quickly before leaving TT, you could always "transfer" the credit using a prepay cheap calls service like https://www.cheapestchat.com by calling their top up line a few times, this would leave the credit on your phone even when your onetel/TT account is long gone.

I don't think that will be the case. I would imagine whatever credit/debit that is on your Onetel account at the time of changeover will be carried over.
