Unless you like the idea of gate checking bags at £30 a go.
And before you ask, I don't know if this applies to things bought airside - but then we are talking about Ryanair who would sell their own grannies if they could make money from it

If someone thinks that they are so special that rules don't apply to them, then why shouldn't they have to pay for a 2nd bag?
No policies have changed.0 -
I never have a problem with this. I always take my handbag plus cabin case and no problems at all. However, saying this, I accept no liability if anyone gets stopped and charged!Gone ... or have I?0

They have become really strict. At both Glasgow Prestwick and Birmingham I have seen them insist on people putting their handbags inside their bag.
I am not sure if it is a chnage of policy or ifthey have just got stricter?
I always take a small case just the right size and a hand weigher to check the weigh and never pay any baggage so I can indulge in their 1p flights etc.0 -

I was fine at Luton and Marrakech last week (despite signs at Luton saying one piece of hand luggage only), and my boss who goes through EMA almost weekly still manages to take everything but the kitchen sink with him!
I have definitely heard more reports on people being stopped, but think the enforcement of the rule is still quite random.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Marrakech -how lucky we don't have that flight! I am happy for Ryanair to have more flight it means I can go on more cheap trips. People in London are v. spoilt.0

Very strict at Alicante on my last trip.
The charge has gone up, it was 20 Euro's in November/December?
7 lads all got charged 20 Euro's each for being over size. ( not able to cram everything in ).0 -

I'm in Nottingham, so have to get the train to Luton (and stayover, the flight is at 6am). I agree, those near London do have a lot more choice!
I've been told that Girona are very strict also, and have slightly dodgy scales also.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Shall I say it?
Ok then.
This is just a total RIP OFF!!!! :-)0 -
It isn't a rip off - it's just that up to now they haven't always enforced the rule.
Now they've given fair warning that the rule will be strictly enforced no-one can grumble if they get caught out.0
