Hi All,
Its here, the new thread, hip hip hooray!
The idea of the challenge for any newbies is you decide how many days you feel you can not spend on and with the support of many lovely MSE members we will try and help you achieve that goal!
Jacks wrote a mini rule list which is very helpful so i will paste it here:
The Rules
1) You set your own rules!
Most people don't count bills and direct debits, and it's probably best not to count regular expenses that you aren't planning to reduce , or that you can't do anything about - such as the kids dinner money / pocket money or your train fare to work etc.
Ebay posting doesn't count cos the buyers pay for that.
After that...it's up to you.
Some people count food shopping and some don't. (I do cos otherwise I would sneak all sorts into my trolley!)
Some count petrol and some don't.
The basic rule of thumb is: If it's a regular expense and you can't reduce it - then don't count it.
If you declare on here what will count with you and what won't it helps other posters figure their own plan out.
If you want to see how it all works, Decembers's challenge is here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1313301
So just let me know if you want to join by posting your amount of NSD's below, Now its January (almost) i wonder if we will have a few more high target aimers to recover from Christmas
For record purposes (us MSE folk have bad brains)
Feb's challenge will be run by Lula Hula
March's challenge will be run by SarahNeedle1872

Hello, this will be my first time on an NSD Challenge, but I'm going to go straight in at the deep end! 20 days for me please
I'm not counting my lunch money. Petrol money & groceries are being counted though.0 -
I'd like to try this please. I'll try a sensible 10 NSD's for Jan and will try to increase it as the months go on. We are living on cash this year so we have a feel for spending real money - not the virtual plastic stuff that doesn't count as spending! so I'll count all days where I don't spend any money out of my purse as NSD's.
Good luck all.
