Does the fact that balance transfers and purchases are 0% mean that the money can be transfered to bank accounts?

Sorry if that is a really stupid question Im useless at understanding these terms!

No, you need an SBT card for that.

Good spot thank you as currently looking for a new BT card. Does anyone have experience of HSBC in terms of how large a credit limit they will give?

One to watch, the front page (linked above) shows 9 months but the summary box shows 6 months - no doubt they need to update their site as the summary box forms part of the T&C.

Hmm- I need to BT at the end of December - I wonder how long this offer will be available?
    I think....
  • This also seems to be a plus point for this card -

    Allocation of Payments:
Your payment is allocated to Cash Advances, Credit Card Cheques, then Purchases and standard rate payments Balance Transfers, and lastly to promotional rate Balance Transfers.

Is this the normal T&C for HSBC because it seems commendable if it is?

I had thought I'd better leave my next application until next year but this may be too tempting. Does anyone know how generous they are with credit limits?

i think its too early to know what sort of c/l's are being offered. I applied yesterday (which i think was the first day it was on offer). I now have to wait 7-10 days to see if Im accpted and get the credit agreement, if successful. Hhopefully then Ill sign it and return it, sometime after this Ill find out about the c/l. Ill report back when I do ! :)

Yes it's one of only a few cards that have this favourable allocation.

Just a thought, I remember HSBC being slow in the past with online CC applications, some even being lost and people having to re-apply (at the cost of another credit search). I'm sure they must have sorted this by now but if you have any concerns it may be worth applying at a branch, where applications are processed much quicker.

I took out the 9months 0% purch/BT Gold Card last year, applied in branch and initially got a low limit (wasn't at electoral register at my rented address), but got them to match my Nationwide limit as I was 'closing the account'. So take a recent statement with you from another CC and you might be able to get them to match it ;)

Didn't have any joy raising the limit >6months later when the card was almost maxxed out, so closed it after the promo period was ended. The 3.9% existing customer offer was 3.9% more than I could get elsewhere.

    £3,400 was my limit.
