What's the deal?
Until midnight Friday 1 Aug, new customers signing up to TalkTalk (who have BT landlines) via a special cashback site can get £100 cashback on the deal. If you take this into account you effectively get line rental, broadband, and free evening and weekend calls for £12.50 a month. That's only £2 more than BT.
TalkTalk is currently the second cheapest provider by itself, see Cheap Home Phones, with this cashback it is unbeatable.
How this cashback loophole works...
Cashback sites are specialist websites that list retailers and product providers. They get paid by the retailers if you click through them, but importantly they then give some or all of this cash to you, provided you've registered which is free. To find out more read the Best Cashback Sites guide.
The £100 Cashback is only available from one particular cashback site, Quidco, as it has an exclusive deal on this. Other sites are currently paying a lot less.
How to get the cash
To get the deal simply go to Quidco and once logged in search for TalkTalk in the merchant's list. If you don't have one you'll need to get an account, this is free but Quidco takes the first five pounds you earn each year as its admin charge. So if this is the only cashback you get, the total will be £95.
Cashback sites payouts aren't 100% guaranteed.
As cashback sites rely on the retailers paying them, you can never count cashback as a sure thing until it's in your bank account. Yet as this is a deliberately organised exclusive deal, its very likely to work for 99% of people, and even if it doesn't this package is one of the cheapest anyway.
If you're a first time cashback site user, please do read the full Best Cashback Sites article for a full explanation of the pros and cons. Plus to see how the different sites payouts compare use the Cashback Sites Maximiser.
Is TalkTalk's customer service any good?
The customer service reputation of TalkTalk has improved since it launched the first incarnation of this deal a couple of years ago (it couldn't have got much worse) and it was swamped and left 100,000s unhappy.
Yet like almost every phone and broadband providers, there will be some who have a bad time, sadly it's just the nature of the industry. My view is simple, if you're going to risk bad service, which you do everywhere, you may as well ensure you're getting the best deal.

Seems like a good deal - but, most folks already on broadband will need a MAC code from their present provider to transfer to TalkTalk.
From what I can see on TalkTalk's website this will need to be phoned in - by completing part of the sale over the phone you will lose the £100 cashback from Quidco.
Is this correct?0 -
You can enter your MAC code online...
I just started to go through the order process & it asks you to enter it.0 -

You don't need a MAC code to join TalkTalk.0 -
Hi
i have a couple of queries about this deal:
does the calculation of the broadband cost include the connection fee of £30(i think)
does anyone know if it is easy to transfer these services if u move house?
also i have never used quidco before so im gonna hav to check out what other people think of the site - can here offer offer their opinions on their reliability?
this deal seems brilliant considering how much i am paying at the moment!
thanx0 -

Quidco - very reliable in my experience and well worth a look. I click through them every year for each of my car insurances (and, after cashback, rarely finish up paying more than £50 p.a. for full comp. for the GL and me on each).
Doing the same with buildings/contents insurance, my renewal quote was £124.37 but I went via Quidco, picked the company offering the highest cashback (£120) and then renewed with them even though the total was £156 (after cashback, the annual cost will be £36).
Yes, I'll have to wait until October to get the £120 but, as the new company offered interest-free monthly DD payments too, I'm prepared to wait - to go into profit!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Wow! sounds gud...ive always been a bit sceptical with cashback sites after a nasty experience with e2save, but this seems to be alot easier without any bills to send in etc. thanx for the info. i cant believe your car insurance! that is amazing!0 -

BTW, the household insurance will now (again) be with the company I was with 2 years ago - guess how much cashback Quidco offered then!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. This is not so.
At least 2 sites offer to pricematch on cashback (rpoints and cashbackkings).find another site was offering more cashback, we will match their offer
So if you are already a member elsewhere it is not necessary to have to join quidco to get this offer - and ensure you get the full £100, rather than have to join quidco just to do this and have their £5 fee deducted from the £100.0 -
Hi
Have tried for this offer today. Although I currently have Broadband with BT, I get told by Talk Talk that I cannot have free broadband in my area at the moment. Last week I tried Tiscali after being notified of a good offer and had the same response. It's not fair!!0
