Well new chapter, new thread - that and trawling through 44 pages of my own writing was tiring
Thursday 17th July 2008
* Confirmation from the OR that my vehicle is exempt. It's a 1998 Volvo V40 which I use for school runs, work, etc. and is worth roughly £1,300 (well it was before the brakes went
) I think the reason it was exempt was because I have mobility issues - 2 slipped discs causing extreme walking problems. Thankfully my OR agreed.
* Still need to finish clearing out the old house  We've been busy 'living' here so have not been back, but we need to. Hire a skip, load of bin bags and junk it. H spoke to NR and they are aware that we are going for Vol Repo but we haven't heard anything from them yet. And we know not to sign anything that gives us any liability for shortfall if they sell and don't make enough.
* OR was quite clear about how busy they are, so basically if we don't hear from her, then all is fine. No questions were raised about the SOA during the interview once I had clarified what each amount was for, and there was no surplus income that could be taken (child benefit and child maintenance from the ex).
* H and I are getting along well. Settling nicely into the new house, and I think the breathing space from each other as a couple has made it easier to be friends and actually like each other again
Things to look forward to:
* my sister gets married in late August, and although it's just three of us going - me, H and lil monster, it'll be nice to celebrate something :T
* Summer holidays are coming, so more time with the girls. The joy of working mornings means they can do chores while I am out, then we can spend the afternoons having fun
So just over a month since we went BR, and life is going ok. Still need to get through a 'normal' month financially - the brakes failing, H needing to spend a few nights up in London next month for family reasons, and my sister's wedding mean we haven't gone through a proper month living according to our SOA. Mind you, I guess I should ask what's normal?!
:rotfl:
So if you made it this far without falling asleep, welcome to the ramblings of an undischarged bankrupt - I guess my diary of getting my life back on track, and learning to live a good life without credit and all the heartache it can bring

Great to be looking forward!!! ...how did you `train` your kids to do the chores while you are at work!! I remember having to pay mine (pocketmoney) to do anything!!!
I hav`nt called NR yet...they are blissfully unaware...except that I hav`nt paid yet this month!! (still I`m not in arrears until after end month).
Great to hear that you & OH are getting along better...really will ease the stress..at least you are working together.

Hee hee, dunno about trained - they just have a list of things I want done by the time I get home. Not a huge list mind you!!! And they also know if it's done when I get back we're more likely to chill out together instead of me being stressed
NR seem to take their time about all this - not paid for about three months now....Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Which is a joke considering as UK citizens we own the bank........................:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Nice to see that things are more relaxed and especially glad that your relationship with H is improving now things are more sorted for you...there may be hope for me and Lily's mum after all... <crosses fingers>
I know it would probably be morally wrong, but why bother clearing the old house out?

I cleaned ours and I think I can guess why Merry feels she has to do it. But Merry, doesn't your back give you a good excuse not to? Glad to hear things are settling down for you. They are here too, though I feel rather flat after all the, er, intensity of moving house, court, OR interview etc. And our mortgage holders have also gone quiet after getting the letter from us asking where to send the keys. Weird feeling.

Hey 2Loose
There are bits there that need to be destroyed, and also just want to close the door on it properly - hark at me, normally I run away from housework:rotfl:
And I hope things turn out ok - just keep talking, and more talking, and more talking :grouphug:Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Know what you mean about the 'quiet' although we haven't given a return date for the keys yet. I guess that's the next stage?!Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
