  • Hi fellow money savers,

i followed the online services through Martins website regarding what i believe is 2 miss sold ppi's on loans from the AA. One which was paid off within 12 months.
i sent 2 letters both recorded delivery, giving detailed information on Martins template and waited.
10 weeks on and i havent received an aknowledgement.
    what should i do now?

    look forward to some advise,
    Lyndalou.
  • Firstly I have been successful on reclaiming Total Cover payment protection from Catalogue copany vertbaudet (they are owned by Redcats I believe!) I claimed for £104 inclusive of 8% statutory interest and today have received a letter saying they will refund me £112 inclusive of statutory interest which is fantastic - only after first initial letter.:T

Then it goes down hill I'm afraid. Am claiming in total £182.31 from Marbles and £275 from HFC - today I have received letters back saying that the PPI on these two were approved by myself when they sent the welcome packs and that I had 30 days to cancel if I did not want it. However I have checked and I can not find these so called welcome packs. So am confused - should I still send off letter number 2? I am angry that they are using this 30 day period as a way out of settling PPI claims.

    Anyone able to offer advice?

Also Capital One have done the greatest...I requested reclaim of £978 on PPI for the last 5 years which I did not authorise for and instead their letter today simply says they have cancelled the ppi - totally non mentioning the reclaim amount - boy I am going to get them back for that one...am angry they have just cancelled the policy with no further mention on the reclaim settlement.

Will keep you all up dated.

I've seen a couple of Northern Rock successes posted.

So posted first letter 29th October, claiming mis-sold PPI on a £9,000 loan. (paid off 2006) Letter back today stating they are looking into my complaint.

    To be updated.

    Hi

I'm new here so please bare with me.

I am about to attempt to reclaim PPI from Black Horse Finance and London Scottish Finance/Bank.

I have seen someone has already written to say that BHF were not members of the FOS so are not obliged to refund. Is this correct?

I am also interested to hear if anyone has had any success with London Scottish.

I took out loans with both these institutions in desparation a few years ago and not only is their interest, APR and PPI charges worse than exhorbitant...they more or less said that I wouldnt get the loan if I didnt get PPI, so now I want to reclaim it if I can.

Any views etc is much appreciated.

Oh the other thing I might mention is that the paperwork from both these companies is so carefully crafted it looks as if I especially wanted to select ppi like the box says 'I wish to purchase Optional PPI' and I've ticked and signed it!!! God how dumb am I!! >>>>>> look>>>>>>>

    London Scottish Finance:
    The APR is: 50.98%
The fixed rate interest is: 25.0000%
The PPI is: £965 (on a £4,500 loan)

    Black Horse Finance:
    The APR is: 27.9%
    The interest rate is: 2.072%
    The PPI is: £670

eeeekkk no wonder I'm totally brassic!

I am right in thinking then that you dealt directly with FirstPlus not a broker I have had no contact with FirstPlus just Central Capital or Trust as they are now known, wonder if I would have any better luck going through FirstPlus then? you have me thinking now although from previous posts on this site I thought they might direct me to Central Trust as they were my starting point. Um Um Um maybe I will just wrire to everyone bombard them with letters until they can't stand any more of me and give in. Keep me posted with you and I will keep you posted with me.
You are right in thinking we dealt directly with Worst Plus. The salesman was that interested in telling us we would get our PPI back after 5 years that he failed to point out just how useless this policy truly was. In their reply to our complaint letter they even stated that my hubby was eligible for the policy but due to his medical condition he wouldn't have been able to claim. Call me stupid but isn't that the main reason PPI is taken out??
Anyway keep your chin up and will keep you posted.
