I never use my phone that much, I always use my mobile as I get inclusive calls on that... I don't think I'll be taking up the offer if that's the case!0

Sorry, just trying to point you at a no-cost way to save £62.50Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

As at least all your weekend UK 01/02/03 calls will be free if you get a BT line, why not just make (free) calls to your local restaurant or takeway (even if you don't want to book/order)?
That is what went through my mind, but until I get my first bill I am not assuming the free calls count but I will get a bill soon.
If you also have VOIP and a national rate number you could just call yourself 10 times for free.0 -

The cancellation charges & minimum term contracts I can safely say, are here to stay.0

Ive been reading some of your threads and I gather from them that I can only go with BT for my installation of a telephone line. What I need help with, I paid £124.99 in September when I moved into my rented accommodation, we are now moving again and they are charging me another 124.99 to reconnect an old line, they also want a 12month contract but Im only in the property for 6months, they refused to even listen to me when I said im only here for that long.
IS there anyway of having a 6 month contract? Some people might afford a new connection fee on a new house each time but I cant even afford to buy at the mo let alone another 124.99 or 12 months
Help!:mad:0 -
Nope they wont offer a six month contract.
You don't have to go with BT for the installation of the landline btw, have a search on here theres plenty of threads which state providers that can reconnect them for you0 -
Really? BT told me that they are the only people who can reconnect me, do any spring to mind from you?0
