I think that I would wait and see how the court pans out before deciding if you go to the paper - sometimes media influence can have a negative effect on cases.
Glad to hear that you have been to the court.

It's had me on the edge of my swivel chair all the way through - I thought nothing could top the intreigue of the Karl and Susan 'will they, wont they' saga in Neighbours for that! (LOL, yes OK I am totally sad and I still watch Neighbours
)
I'm just sorry that you've had to go through it - I'm moving out of my flat in a couple of weeks so my fingers are crossed I won't be posting the same things on here. The support everyone has shown is just plain heartwarming.0 -
It's true - everyone has stuck with me and I've felt such a strong bond of support, bad days have become better and other such gushy things! :hello:MFW #185

It just really annoys me that you've had to go through all this to get your own money back.
Not wishing to sound smug but we were really lucky with our landlady. She came round last Friday (OH not too impressed as we were still packing/tidying) sat down with us, had a chat, didn't even look round the place and gave us a cheque for the full deposit!
I really hope your new LL/LA is from the same school.0 -

Well, I have just gone up and done the deed - they said it should be processed in a week or so and she will get a letter informing her of what is happening, so will we.
Clutton - I didn't go to the newspaper (the local paper is the Argus) as I felt that would be something to do if the court aspect didn't pan out - I don't know, do you think it's worth doing?
WHAT?????????????
I CAN'T WAIT A WEEK TO FIND OUT WHAT'S HAPPENING????
seriousley i am also addicted to this thread, can't wait for you to get your money back from this stupid nasty b***h.
Good luck and well done. A big thankyou to all the people who have guided you through this too. better work now or i think msn will get me fired!!:rotfl:It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

extra hint here, - a mate just had a row with a court official who said
"i cannot answer your questions - i cannot give you legal advice"
my mate "" i understand that very well, but, my Barrister tells me that you are duty-bound to give me Procedural Advice" -
(i.e. how does this court system work, what are the procedures, and how do they work - clearly a clerk who didn;t want to shift herself !!!! )
Clerk changed tone instantly, and answered all questions !!!!
So EL, if there is something you dont understand with court forms, reports etc - quote this !!!!!!!! - tell em Clutton sent you - they'll soon change their tune !!!!0 -
Hello again,
I followed a link on another thread and ended up here
http://boards.fool.co.uk/Message.asp?mid=7759984 thought you might be interested in the numbered paragraphs.0 -
Thanks guys - will take those points in mind - nothing from courts, letting agent or landlady as of yet.
i guess I need to be realistic and realise this could take months yet - I'm starting to suspect the landlady knows this and it's why she's seemingly not bothered about any of it.MFW #185

Did you claim interest?0 -
it all depends on how busy the court is before they get to your own claim, dont worry, its all going well.
Debt collectors charge 4% above Bank Base rate - over and above the original debt - check with your local court, what % you are allowed to claim.0
