Tried to use up as much store cupboard stuff as I could in November. Managed to shift some stuff that had been lurking for years. Still a bit to go, will probably have another go in January. It did bring home to me that I should be careful of those special offers!

Anyone else for a store cupboard challenge in January? I know that my food cupboard will barely shut! I'm off to do an inventory after work this evening, and plan some menus so that I only have to buy fruit, veg, milk and bread for the month!ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0

Definately up for a challenge for January. Have done an inventory of freezer and cupboard today and my shopping list looks remarkably short - oil, butter, beef stock cubes and onions!

This would fit in very well with the Jan Grocery challenge! Only way I am going to have any chance is by using up the contents of the larder and freezer.
I must go do a stocktake but do have a lot of tins of chickpeas, tomatoes and kidney beans! Also a couple of bags of rice and 2 large bags pasta (the Asda mega ones), could be some interesting meals! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Definitely up for it. I have done a kitchen cupboard inventory, but am scared to do a freezer one:eek: as I have 2 and they are both SO full! Having said this, it is mostly with home grown fruit and veg, haven't gone mad at Iceland or anything.0

I'd love to do the challenge but I am not taking inventory. I have a 20 cubic foot freezer I can barely shut, an overloaded pantry. Another overloaded food cupboard (you know those 50's jobbies with the little glass doors and the front that comes down) plus 2 storage crates still filled with christmas stuff.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I too will be doing this challenge along with the grocery challenge (two challenges for a newbie ooh err) as I have a rather odd assortment of stuff. Have already been given advice on what to do with chestnuts, couscous and beans on the other thread but may have to put a severe weather warning out first!
Haven't ventured into the freezer yet either, it's too scary. I am aiming for no shopping until Friday, wish me luck and I will post my best efforts. The pizza dough is whirring in the breadmaker for tonights offering.
