never ever feel embarrassed handing a coupon over in Vegas , unless your such snob that you would not even be on this site in the 1st place. Coupons are everywhere and if you don't use them you are effectively over paying for somethings , because the merchants that issue them expect them to be used more often than people buying stuff without coupons.

i always say i have a coupon when i I'm ordering , booking something ect, so they can expect it before ringing up your total/bill ect.

I had to pipe up when I read this post - during my trip to Vegas last year I was quite shy about using coupons during my first week - by the second week my friends were calling me the "coupon queen". I was collecting the papers, the magazines, the booklets in the taxis etc and I didnt feel right if I paid for something WITHOUT using a coupon!!!

This year I went one better and bought The American Casino Guide (ACG) Oh my gosh! I saved SO much money from the coupons in that guide.
The book itself cost about £7 I think from Amazon and it paid for itself with the first coupon! Anyone interested in this do a search on this forum for it and you will see lots of posts. It is SO worth it. I have attached a selection of a few of them below.

As I say, this is just a selection and saved us a fortune - there are loads more. Do NOT be shy about using those coupons. I now kick myself for ever having paid full price for anything during my first visit back in 2005! I paid full price for going to Madame Tussauds and visiting the Eiffel Tower - how annoying is that?!!

I've booked 6 nights at Bill's Gamblin Hall in October and the price has decreased by $80 since we booked it. As it is a fully cancellable rate I have emailed reservations to ask them to amend the booking to the cheaper rate but have heard nothing back. I can't find anywhere on the website to amend/cancel the booking myself and wondered whether the only way to do this is to call the hotel direct. If I call them do I ask them to amend the booking or will I need to cancel and rebook? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Many thanks

    Hi Becky,
A bit off room rate topic, BUT have you stayed there before? Reason for my question is Ive just got back and I SO enjoyed my visits to Bills - its great!

They have 99c Margaritas all day, every day (mmmm the original lime ones) and their steakhouse has an amazing deal - Its their $14.95 steak special - its ISNT on the menu, you have to ask for it. You get a soup or salad to start with fresh bread roll and either a NY Strip Steak or Prime Rib with your choice of potato (either mash, fries or baked) with sour cream. There are no veggies served with it, but you dont really need them if you get the salad for your starters. We took to ordering a side of either coleslaw or onion rings (not overly health I know, but hey, we were on holidays!!).

Service is attentive and fast. You can also bring your margaritas in with you, so you dont have to buy any drinks - score!!!

Sorry if you already knew all this, but it may help either you or someone else.

Also - sign up for the players card and you get an excellent fun book (more coupons) and they were doing a promo where you won $10 worth of comps if your players card happened to be in a machine each day when they rang the claxon at random intervals. Really fun place to visit.

My shuttle bus back to the Orleans stopped at Bills so I went there daily - mainly to get my fix of margaritas :) darn it I wish I was still there!!!!

    Evening Pebbles,
Totally agreed re Tenagrief comment. Our 10 day holiday in Cyprus in June (not quite peak season) came to the same price as 10 full days in Vegas; that's 5 nights at MGM and 5 at Ceasars even though we got stung on 1 sat night's accommodation as (I think) it's a holiday weekend room cost $280, but hey...

A bit off topic, but reading about all these offers for signing up to players cards has most people thinking that you can't beat Vegas for freebies. well, we have a casino here in Nottingham called Alea, owned by HET of all people. Everyday between 2pm and 5pm they give out £10 matchplay coupons, that's £10 free money to gamble EVERYDAY. you would be lucky to get 1x$10 free coin in for signing up at any Vegas casino. As I am working in town at the moment I take 1/2 hour off, meet the OH and go in to gamble with my matchplay.
BTW wish us luck, next Thursday there is a prize draw for 4 nights flights and accommodation in Ceasers Palace, we have already saved up 30 prize draw tickets!!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We are looking at going to vegas next year as a treat for our girls both have birthdays 21 & 18 so we throught a family trip would be a good idea
we have have a quote for March 2009 fliights (virgin) and hotel (MGM) for 4 Nights cost quoted 3600 !!!!
I guess from reading this that you don't all pay this kind of price as you are returning often
Please could you offer some advice so i could hopefully take the family away

    Hi Jayne

OK here is very quickly how to get the best deal, book your flights seperatly you wills ave money if you fly indirect (whcih is what I alwasy do now MAxJet have gone bust) but I unerstand that is not everyone's choice but you will save upto £150 per ticket ! You book your hotel seperatly using a discount code many of which are posted on here the MArch codes will start coming out in about October maybe a bit later for MGM they are allways a bit later than the others. Whne yuo book the hotel you make sure that you do not book a NONrefundable offer, you then check the hotel website every few dates and if the rate drops after you have booked you pick up the phone and call th hotel and they will match your rate.

When you get off th plane you get a cab to the hotel you do not pick you car up at the airport you get it the following day at the hotel, not only is the cab fare less than a days car hire but you are tired and you dont hav to deal with the busses and wait for ages at the rental station the hotel ocikup is much quicker. You retrun the car the day before you fly and get a cab from the hotel to the airport. Oh I always use www.dollar.co.uk I find it the cheapest and they have desks in most MGM Mirage properties.

No doubt the good folk on here will add far better advice than I can to here.

Planet Hollywood are doing $79 a night for selected dates in July, August and September, with a lot of extras including 2-for-1 spa entry and upgraded room. Don't have a link as i'm in work, my brother forwarded me the email, but i'm sure it will be on the website....
