  • Mon - Fri, anytime from 10.00am to 3.00pm but has been as late as 5.15pm.
Saturday it is usually here by 10.00am, occasionally later all though last week it was almost 3pm!

Recently I've had a number of my letters delivered to the wrong house, didn't know until they returned from holiday and gave me the letters. I've also had things not arrive at all and I'm wondering if they've been put through the wrong letterbox and have not been returned to me. I've also received letters for other people, which I passed on.

I really am fed up with the post office at the moment as I think the posties are, they don't like not having a regular round, as they do not get a chance to get to know the route; so it takes them longer to deliver as well. My area seems to be always changing the routes for the posties and as I said it's been a nightmare recently.

A few years ago my post used to arrive about 7.30am but I also used to get a second delivery which Royal Mail now deny ever happened!

  • Mine arrives at 8.45am weekdays and 8.15am on a Saturday. I live in the middle of nowhere. When I lived in a large town, it used to be after 2pm. Doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not knocking it.

    saturday 8 ish
when my usual posty is on holiday we get it earlier?!
annoying for me as I do voluntary work for a charity and often get a PILE of work to do delviered late in the afternnon - so my working day gears up as everyone else is winding down!
oh for the 7.30 am days of yesteryear!

Normally between 11 & 12, but can be later, we never get post on a Monday!!! Our post has been very erratic recently and a large stack had been delivered next door (they brought it round when they returned from holiday, all dated within a few days of each other.)

I'm annoyed with the post right now too. I don't get post every day, maybe twice a week. i'm not sure if that's because we're not getting much anyway, or whether the postie only delivers here a few days a week. It also comes at 2-3pm as well, it used to (a few months ago) come before 12pm.

Our postie lives across the road and I think he may leave our street until last as it usually arrives in the afternoon except Saturdays.

    About 1pm.

Whats the problem, whay is everyone in a hurry to get their spam and direct marketing crap?

    Here's a top tip....

If you want to get your mail first thing in the morning [say 6am], simply ignore the letters that arrive at 2pm today, and leave them lying in the hall; then when you come down to brekkie tomorrow morning you can say [all surprised like] ..."Oh look, the posties been really early today, what a refreshing change".
Repeat every day and hey presto, early post.

    Must send to Viz...
  • our post times are erratic at best, anything from about 9am to 2pm, worst thing is the sorting office on the regular occasions they post the cards through, its awful there, they are only open a few hours a day, when they are there they never answer the bell at the front and when a queue starts developing out the door and you dare to ring the bell again they make snide remarks at you, none of this "sorry about your wait" nonesence

so much so i am tempted to have parcels delivered elsewhere so i get a different sorting office where they are less rude
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

The working rules at the PO and RM are so old world that such 'not my job' union restrictive practices are legion.

Awful customer service........the sooner it's all privatised the better.

Do 3 hrs work get paid a full day.

Guaranteed overtime [whether needed or not]

    Atrociously weak management

    Bullying and harassment

Last bastion of 'old school' unions and working practices...
