I wonder how much he and the missis have managed to take out of the business?

If he is selling a house with a tenant - surely that will reduce the asking price. If he wants to sell them vacant he will have to chuck 900 tenants out.

He finds himself with a whopping great big dilema.

    A fool in denial.
    No grip on reality.

He completely mixed up and confused the official data in his attempt to dismiss it as not relevant to him/his houses/his area.

I bet they're both up all day and all night all the time, watching everything. All the news, pawing through here and hpc etc. Scared.

He might be Pastures but do you know I feel for everyone of those that stayed up scared because they had money in Icelandic Banks and I feel for those unable to raise traditional finance to keep their business afloat. In fact, I feel for most people in this country at the moment who are confused/worried or scared. However, I feel nothing for the Wilsons. Zilch.

If they are bankrupt - let the whole lot be realistically valued with tenants and bought from the banks (Government?) by the local council as local affordable housing. Otherwise, I can see the market flooded and a few, new greedy BTL vultures coming along and bagging them for nothing and the whole vicious circle starts again.

I wonder how the 'Judith Wilson Property Investment Bond' is doing ?, not very well, I suspect. Like Kez says, I think schadenfreude is not a particularly nice trait, however with these two, well I can't help myself.

He comes across as a fool but the banks are even worse lending him so much money. Even if he sell his "collection" for less than half , he has still made more money than he deserves

I think this is his problem, if he sells them for half of what he thinks they are worth (which is cloud cuckoo land), that leaves him about £30 million in the red.

Good news for Landlords in Ashford (in the short term) as 900 homeless ex-Wilson tenants are going to value the remaining rentable stock much higher (demand > supply)
Bad news for anyone owning any property in the area as 900 quick sales will see house values plummet (demand < supply)

I don't think the Wilsons and short term can be put in the same sentence, Fergus' great great grandson may just be turning 60 years old by the time the last one of these properties is sold.;)

The man's an @rse. Unlike everyone else on this forum, I freely admit that schadenfreude is one of my principal sources of joy and is indeed listed under "Hobbies and outside interests" section of my CV.

I can't help but feel the wily old git will wriggle out of it somehow though. Maybe he'll try the "Guinness Defence".
